Clickbank vs. Other Affiliate Programs

Hi there,

I am a newbie here and a newbie to internet/affiliate marketing. I don't know if this has been asked before but can anyone tell me if clickbank is the only reliable place to get good affiliate products that do sell, or are there other sites that could also be used.

I am looking at steering away from the make money niches as I know they are so competitive, so would that have a bearing on the answer?

Thank you in advance for your comments.

Lisa

There are many affiliate programs available - just google affiliate programs or you can visit Top Affiliate Program Directory - Affiliate Marketing Programs for some of the programs.

Clickbank focus on informational products which are much easier to promote although it will be a tedious task to get a good conversion rate.

    Commission Junction - cj .com
    Linkshare .com
    Google Affiliate Network
    Shareasale .com
    AvantLink .com

None of these are e-book make money fast merchants - they sell everything you can imagine.

There are thousands of merchants at each one of these networks.

I have signed up as affiliate for several places including amazon.com even. I've found that if there is a certain 'something' I know sells (just for ie: Video Proffessor who is a huge enterprise) then I go to their main site and look for 'affilliate' on the site. That example actual has a sep site for the affilliate program but can be searched.
(not a VP promo here - I didn't sign into it)

Video Professor used to be at Commission Junction and when they left CJ they did not pay any of the affiliates the money they owed them.

    Stay away from VP.

  • Often you'll find the same company on different networks with different payouts. Your job is to worry about finding the right opportunity then backtrack to the networks. You are not promoting the network you are promoting the product. The Network is just he middleman.

I am having a lot of trouble getting CJ links to track properly so I don't use them much anymore. Clickbank is okay but it's very limited in that it is only digital products.

So figure out who your target market is, then find your products to offer, then find the Affiliate Network. And make sure you choose the one that offers you the best deal.
