A good wordpress-to-website tutorial?

Anyone got a link to a tutorial on how to turn a wordpress blog into a more traditional website? I'm hoping someone has already made a step-by-step process so I don't have to figure it out all myself.

I can customize it myself, I just hope I don't have to learn how to do it all on my own (would rather spend time creating content for it).

Got anything helpful?

Just use pages, not posts. In settings/reading set a static front page (choose one of your pages to be your "home" page)

That's really it. Then your blog becomes a regular site.

Oh, okay. Thanks, I assumed it would be more complicated than that, cool.

What exactly do you want to do?
    • Do you want to put up an ecommerce site?
    • Do you want to keep your blog active ON your site but make it secondary to what you're selling?
    Hmmmm?

Wordpress is extremely powerful and can easily be tweaked to meet the above needs - I've done it several times myself.

    More input is needed.

Lots of educational information which is directly related to products I sell on eBay currently (plan to open my own e-commerce store when I can afford to hire an employee... I loath customer service and definitely do not want to have to answer phones and crap lol). Plan is basically for now, to funnel traffic to my store via a lot of education on the topic that the products are used for. I do plan to have a blog for this site, but it will not be the homepage.

The other site I plan to make next week will be a standard niche site, content monetized by contextual ads and a few affiliate programs.
