Just checked on one of my domains and I'm getting the same thing.

I guess it's an anti-hacker measure - I get Firefox to store my passwords so that will be OK logging in from my regular computer but would be a pain in the neck if I was trying to remember the password elsewhere.

Just click on the generate button and then you can type in your desired password there.

It's to encourage people to use very strong passwords. Most people use weak passwords and don't even know what a strong password is. So this will generate one for them if they can't or won't do it themselves. So they make you generate one first so that you can either choose to use it or can have an example of one if you want to overwrite it. I used to do computer repair and 90% of the time I never had to ask for anyone's password because it was basic enough for me to guess on the first few tries.

is kinda hard..yup can copy and paste the pass but...well

Just that WP now make it like this..so a bit confusing.
