Whre can I find free hosting?

I recommend Hostinger. They will have your website hosted there without ads. With 2GB disk space and 200GB bandwidth, hosting your site/ebook is just fine with FTP support. You can buy domain names and point to their server without problem.

The only limitation for their account AFAIK is you should not bring huge traffic (more than 2000 visits per day 1 think) cause that will suspend your free account. Never use it for mass mailing or your account will be terminated.

Free hosting is not good for your website and not he not have perfect configuration ...
I think Site Ground is the hosting N1 in United States

Myth. Only if you are getting 100,00 visitors a day, then you need a server, but no one is going to give server for free.

  You should check windows azure services.
  Window azure is the cloud of Microsoft, and this is the direct competitor of the Amazon cloud.
  
  For the websites they have 3 types of offer
  - Free, and you can have up to 10 free websites if I remember.
  - Shared
  - Dedied
  
  I don't recomand you to take a free hosting, they are very limited.
  
  But the most important is that you can switch between all the type of instances with a single click, it will take you less 3 second to go from free to Dedied without touching your website.
  
  You pay only for what you use... If you take a dedied server for 5 days you will pay only the 5 days.
  
  This is in the cloud, so if your website need more space/more power/more everything, you just have to click and in a few seconds you have a better service.

Spend 10 bucks a month and get some reliable hosting from a company like Host Gator or Blue Host. With anything free there's usually some strings attached.

if you only need to host an ebook (ie, you need a common place to dump it) either dropbox/google drive should do!

if you need to host the whole site then definitely look for paid hosting. If you go to Site Ground and you do the registration and then try to close the window with the price usually you get a discount code so you're looking at less than 20 bucks for the year... definitely better than free hosting with pop ups and banners!

I used Blogger blog my first few years. It got the job done but later on I got a few Sites banned for no apparent reason.

I know you might not like to hear this but if you are going to get serious in promoting your e-book cough up the extra $7 or $8 a month

Weebly, Wix. There's lots, but you have a shared domain name. You get the advantage of high DA, though, at least that's the theory.

Either use Blogger or Wordpress.com if you want something hosted for free.

If it's something you are serious about just pay for hosting and your own domain, it's not going to break your bank.

I have used in the past 000webhost its good free has a c panel and use FTP to up load and its free , I find all the warriors who are telling what they would do and only a few have given the answer you are looking for.

I think if people would answer the OP question and not put the why and you should pay is more like hijacking the thread to something else the forum would not have so many long threads and the answers more relevant to the question asked.

HostGator has a 30% off promotion right now - you can get shared hosting for less than $5/month. Godaddy has $ .99 domains.

If you can't find $5/month to get started, go sell some blood for $50 and you'll be in business.

Webhostia is a good choice. I used them while i was taking this college course about ecommerce. They're still free, and my professor had up link it up with 1&1 domains.

But honestly... i think you should get a paid, very good webhosting provider. You don't want to mess around with a free web hosting company who's uptime is sketchy (like 70%). Feel me?

Free and without strings attached? So how would hosting companies make money?

I agree with most and believe it's better to go with a decent affordable web hosting like site ground.

If you go the free route don't expect much uptime or to build a decent website there... Even most shared hosting companies suck... free ones usually add ads on your website to make some money out of your website.

Trust me on this one, do not use any free hosting, i have learned the hard way. These hosting services usually have limited bandwidth which means if like 10 or 20 persons visit your website at once your website will go down. Instead invest a little money in a cheap but reliable hosting like Namecheap.com. You can then host several websites on the same hosting service plan.
If you don't have any money you can try https://www.000webhost.com They are the best free hosting with regards to uptime etc but limited bandwidth.

Try free hosting from 50webs.com. It's super fast and without ads. Though you won't be able to get any PHP/database support, but you can host static websites for free.

No strings attached as I had used this free hosting for years, and now I have a paid account with them for almost three years (and counting).

I recommend you not to use free hosting services. You will not get what you are looking for. You always be running out of your server resources and there is no guarantee of security of your data.
