Mark as read option?

by GarrieWilson 7 replies
Has anyone found a way to mark topics as read? Or to change folder color if its not new/doesnt have a new reply?

The way it is now, the folder colors dont change unless you read the topic which makes scaning for new topic/replies harder. Then if you read one, it doesnt change back.

I know some systems have a "mark all as read" feature.

I know there is a new posts feature BUT that shows new posts in all the sections and I could care less about most of them...

On the front page of the forum, the red circle - double click it to mark the whole forum as read... I'm going to investigate doing it on a smaller scale now. Be back soon...

[edit]Back - there's also the drop down in the red bar in the forum you're reading which allows you to mark all as read. Back again soon if I can work out how to do it on an individual post basis...

        No worries...

I gave up the search for doing it on a post by post basis - as you could probably tell

        Kindest regards,
        Karl.

Karl I too gave up trying to do it on a post by post basis. Maybe someone could let us into the secret of how it is done if it can be that is.

All the ones Ive been on..

        1. Differentiate new threads & threads w/ new posts since last visit with bold. ie If is the same as my last visit, it doesn't keep it bolded. This one keeps them bolded until you read it even when it's not new.

        2. Have a link at the top and bottom that says "mark as read" w/out using a pulldown.
