I am using a WP blog to build a niche site and I want each article to be on a separate page with the title of the post so it shows for Google. My purpose is to try to generate Adsense revenue.

I can't seem to find how to get the different posts/articles to appear on their own page. Can anyone please help?

Each post has its "own page" if you click the title of the post it should take you to its own page and you could then promote this page. Depending on your theme you should have something like single post (single.php) within your theme that you can edit for adding adsense.

You can create a page instead of a post. It will then only show as a link on the home page and not in the main blog area. You would need to edit the page template to add adsense to this.

Of course if you want unique ads to show for different post or pages as the topic or keywords are totally different you would need to have some way to tell which adsense code to display. It could be done, but most likely you would want to create a different blog if they are too different that you could not use the same adsense ads for them.

    I hope this helps.

        Jayson,
Not 100% sure but I think the problem might be with your permalink settings.

go to your wordpress admin center
        Click Settings
        Click Permalinks
Look to see what you have set.
I typically use custom and set it to

        %postname%

If this is not the problem you can pm me and I would be glad to try and help work this out.

        Tim,

I am not familiar with the DoshDosh theme, but if you want to pm as well I would be happy to look at this further.

        Thanks,
        Jeff

Just a bit of an update. I am using an Adwords theme from DoshDosh and I have a few articles with different key words, but all on one topic. I wish to use Adwords to monetize and I am thinking of putting in one banner ad for a Clickbank product that I have been trying to promote with articles, on that same topic.

I was following Carolyn Middlebrook's How to Make a Niche Site with WordPress. But I can't see anything in there on this subject.

I can't seem to get this to work. I have deleted all of the posts and I will start again. All I want is five articles on five pages. Maybe I will dump the WP platform and just go with an HTML site. Seems like it would be much easier. But WP has all of those neet widgets that are supposed to help. I am just getting a little frustrated.

I appreciate your offer Jeff. I may contact you yet if I can't figure this out.

No, do not go back to an HTML site. There are numerous advantages from the SEO viewpoint to have a Wordpress site. Have a look at the Permalink structure as given in one of the posts above. Do not let the jargon sounding name scare you, it's very simple.
When you login as administrator, on the left hand side scroll down until you locate Tools-->Settings-->Permalinks.
Click on Permalinks in the left hand side menu, you should get a page with some options under the head "Common Settings" with Radio buttons on each choice for selection.
Click on "Custom Structure" and enter the following code exactly
      /%postname%.html

Now click on the Save Changes button. This setting will now give you a post that has the page title in it instead of the date and such stuff, which is essential for SEO.

Now search for the for Wordpress plugin called All in one SEO and upload it and activate it. It allows each post to have a custom title, keywords, description, which you can edit when write a new post.
Also in the settings page for the All in one SEO be sure to check the boxes "Use Noindex for categories, Noindex for archives and Noindex for tags". This will take care of duplicate content issues.
Lastly, the best things are learnt by playing around with the Wordpress software yourself as there are so many things that cannot be explained in a small blog post. If you do it yourself, you will learn it faster.
However do not switch from WP to static HTML, there's simply no comparison (WP is far better to have).

That advice probably saved my hours! One last thing, my site was indexed in about 3 days and it shows up with a weird description. Is there a place to put specific keywords, title, and description on wordpress?

Yes of course! Download the All in one SEO plugin, activate it and when you write a new post you should click on the All in one SEO tab that shows up, it will give you boxes to enter your Title, Description, keywords and tags.

I may be misunderstanding your request but, if you want to have only one post visible, just go to Settings then Reading and set the number of posts per page to 1.

After I changed /%postname%/ to /%postname%.html it only shows one article/post at a time. Thank you, I was not aware of that possibility.

Now it still looks like a blog and I would like to get rid of the comment box and a few other things so it looks like a mini site. Maybe my expectations were too high. But I thought I had read that folks used this platform to make mini sites a lot. This is a big learning experience. But thanks fo you folks for helping me along that road.

Select a "Static Front Page" as your option instead of the default blog option. This would make your blog look like a normal website, since the posts will not be visible until somebody clicks on the "blog" link.

I have a question.I just set up a new blog.Only changed the theme.Have no plugins yet.How do i add an affi;liate link.I tried it as anchor text, just a link, and i used both of clickbanks ids by copy and paste.
Then i copied and pasted them in my new post.
When i click on publish, one time all of my text showed up as a link. Then both other times the CB code showed up as a a link but the whole code showed up instead of the [click here].
I add links to lenses, and other places with no problem.
