Affiliate program manager not responding - What to do?

I blog for a niche that is dominated by a merchant with what appears to be an in-house affiliate program. I have gotten accepted into affiliate programs by a few other companies that are complimentary to them or direct competitors, but I really want to get in with this one.

I've tried submitting their application online, emailing the affiliate program manager, and emailing and calling their general customer service. No response from the person yet.

Because they're so big I imagine the person has to sift through many applications, and maybe he feels like they have enough affiliates for now.

My next step is improving my blog site a bit and then mailing a postal letter to them that communicates my industry experience, professionalism and potential for revenue.

Any other ideas?

    i would dump them and go with their main competitor

    but if you absolutely MUST work with them

    then send your letter inside a Fedex or DHL box

    that will get their attention and the secretary will forward your letter

    Urgent! Confidential! => are words to use on the envelope....etc...

    George is right move on, if you can't contact them now what will happen if you have a query about a payment.

    A few years back I was in a similar situation, I went with an alternative affiliate program, after i'd been the top performing affiliate for a few months.. miracles of miracles the original company contacted me and asked if i'd like to be an affiliate for them.

    I sent copies of all the emails I'd sent when i tried to join.. resulted in me getting an far higher commission rate than i would have got.

      they either chase you, or you forget about them in a NY minute

    Why not apply to other affiliate programs in the meantime? Why waste time waiting for that one Affiliate Program?

    I don't chase 'em I replace 'em. And that should be your motto too. I live by this philosophy online and in everyday life.

    Now this doesn't mean you shouldn't follow up, but there's difference between following and chasing down. And from the way you've described it, your in realm of chasing down, so now it time to back down and just move on - because a company who can't bother to even respond to a potential business partner that A: Is motivated as you are -- And B: Someone who they're not even paying upfront, then they don't even deserve your time and effort.

    So go to there competitors or find something else to market. There's definitely no shortage of affiliate marketing programs online that will be happy to have you as a part of their team.

    Just dump them and don't give shit. Look for and apply to other similar affiliate programs.

    Thanks, I took your advice and am working with other vendors instead.

    The big one actually got back to me today and the lady seems to think they had emailed me last week, but whatever, they're responsive now. Anyway, I was declined. She's open to taking a look at my site again, so I'll follow up in 6 months after I've made a bunch of improvements and more posts.

      reminds me of an autoresponder company that wanted to know what kind of emails i send out, i said internet marketing,they said "we cannot accept your kind of content at the moment"

      I said "fine, i have a list with 50 autoresponder companies in front of me, now 49 are left" lol. Nobody has anything unique in that market, they all sell the exact
      same thing, so they are all replaceable.

    In my opinion, Affiliate managers should respond to all affiliates big or "small" equally. Like in M Thompson case, you never know what that affiliate can bring to your program in the future. As an AM myself, I have seen similar cases.

    Affiliates are a network's most important partners, if they don't see that, I would point that out (probably in a public space if they don't respond to your queries) and move on to a network that really values your interest and work. Because, even if they end up replying and approving you, you wouldn't like to be part of a network that won't be there for you when you need them the most.

    I would find someone else to work with. If they aren't responding now, do you expect them to respond to you once you are working with them?

    I agree with all of the above- dont chase them. If they cant respond to you now, imagine what they will be like in terms of support for you later. I've had situations like that and I just move on. Some have been programs that I really wanted in to because I thought they would be very lucrative and fun to promote but if they dont respond at all to you, take your lumps and move on.
