What do software developers have left to do?

I've been away for a while and noticed a long list of software that isn't welcomed in the WSO section anymore. What's left for us to write? I came back hoping to push out something useful, but I'm drawing a blank. Any suggestions?

I would be interested in a affiliate marketing plugin. Something that changes the sidebar and header banner ads depending on the post that is being read at the time.

Matt Carter used to have one that worked with his affiliate theme. I still have the theme and plugin but it has not been updated in years

But that is just what I want.

dont say that, of course there is a need, if
it automates boring tasks people do every day

and even submission software to social sites never gets old
but that is a service and update question, as these sites change
      their login procedures almost daily.

As a result developers now do cloud based SAS and it is all centrally
located and updated for all simultaneously.

Great for a developer, because now you can have less service issues
and if its a big piece of software you can ask for a monthly charge
to keep it fresh and working.

research a few guys, that have 'social' and 'blaster' in their keywords
its a great business model, I could sell that if you create it.

I would be interested in a desktop-based software that helps me figure out hot trending content on the FB groups I'm a member of and FB pages I like

Boy you been gone long time

New owners so to comply with the Australian regulations lots of changers , also this type of thread is not really allowed as it is seen as promoting a service via PM

And the old windows based software is now a dying product unless it is a massive offer from a big multi national for streaming services

I would recommend getting into Big Data. There is a shortage of Data Scientists.

It's a definitely a learning curve but if you're a competent software engineer you can learn it fast. It's easier to learn it today than it was 5 years ago. There are a lot of good libraries today so you don't have to reinvent the wheel.

As far as "pushing out something useful" on this forum. Good luck! It seems very few people can afford to buy software here. Mostly, everyone is looking for free stuff.
