What are the best tools to create a beautiful E-book?

Anybody know a great software to design ebook covers and inside content? Or maybe where to outsource it cheaply if there's no such software?

The best software to design ecovers will always be photoshop in my opinion. But if you don't have the time or patience to learn how to use photoshop. Then you can give pixel studio a try. You can use it to create some good looking ecovers. And it's very simple to use.

Also if you have the cash you can just outsource the work on sites like fiverr, upwork, 99 design, etc.

For the content, I use Scrivener. I can organize, write and format my ebooks in Scrivener then upload them directly to KDP.

For covers, since I'm not good at graphic design, I found an awesome cover designer on Fiverr.

I have tried a number of solutions for ecovers and the very best, IMO, is Cover Action Pro.

But a word of caution: tools and software enable the designer to implement his/her ideas into a finished product . . . however . . . the very best and most attractive cover graphics are created by the very best minds in the graphic design business. The human that creates and brings all the graphic elements together is ultimately the key to wonderful design. Any tool is only as good as the person that supplies the input.

    The best to you,

    Steve

I recommend outsourcing it to someone on Fiverr.

Just be sure to spend some time looking through user portfolios to find a designer. There are plenty of good designers, but you have to sort through a lot of bad/mediocre ones to find them.

If you have a little more money to spend, you can use Upwork.

If you have a Mac or Mac emulator, I recommend Vellum for book interiors. I use it on my fiction and I LOVE it. They are in the process of adding a CreateSpace option, as well.

If you're currently using MS Word, then something simple like Kinstant Formatter would suffice. If you are not using Word and want to save yourself the expense of purchasing it then a program like KD Publishing Pro would also work. Both of these programs make Kindle books in case you're interested in selling your ebook on Amazon. KD also has a feature that allows you to publish your ebook directly to Amazon in a click. So there's a couple options for you.

I've used Adobe Photoshop to create lots and lots of e-books in the past, but you can use Canva. With Canva.com you can create beautiful e-book pages and covers and export them on PDF file types.

    1. Microsoft Word

    2. Simple image editing software. Gimp is free and you can get older versions of Adobe Photoshop really inepensively.

    3. A bit of creativity

If you want a beautiful, properly designed, professional e-book then here are the tools you'll need: editor, graphic designer, proofreader, and (if it's a non-fiction book) an indexer. You need a team. You can source them at various prices on websites like Upwork dot com.

I don't sell ebooks, but I use Open Office for creating PDF's and I use Gimp for creating images.

However, when outside of my image design skill level. I have a couple designers that knock stuff out cheap. As it's just way more time / cost effective.
