To make public or not to make public that is the question
Whether tis nobler in the mind to suffer the stings of arrows by not building my forum membership

I'm using Feedcat to build my readership. It has email and rss feed subscription available and is presently free, but I'd like to build my forum membership more directly.
My thought
Have a section of the forum for members only with the complete help articles and in the public section of the forum have a teaser for the article

The purpose of two of the forums for this consideration is to advertise my services and products. I can still advertise those services and products in the teasers, but this may decrease sales. On the other hand having an increased membership will probably increase sales for the future.
