Media Temple Hosting - Any one else having problems?

I switched to Media Temple a few months ago because a couple of members on another forum I am on highly recommended them. Said they were very fast and reliable.

Since switching though I have been having a lot of problems with my sites going down on an intermittent basic. I first complained in July - they claimed it was fixe - and two days ago again, throughout the day for up to 3 or 4 minutes at a time (perhaps more). In addition I regularly get database errors when I try to post and there is problem connecting to the database. These are usually resolved with a minute, but it is an ongoing problem. MT says the problem is latency issues with their grid servers, and they are working on it.

Is anyone else having problems? I don't want to switch again, but I am finding this very frustrating.

    Kayla, I use Media Temple for my sites and we also host client sites on Media Temple for the reason you switched originally. Fast and Reliable.

    We have never had any problems and am sorry to hear you are. Sounds to me to be an unfortunate isolated incident.

      That is reassuring. I don't want to switch. When I first tested them out I was impressed with how fast they were.

    I had also heard great things about media temple and used them for about a year without any problems. Then, the servers became very slow and the customer service was not helpful in trying to resolve the issue. In the long run I would up switching servers I guess it just depends on your experience. I would give them a fair chance though before switching again. Good luck.
