I got a 100% refund rate :(

I have to say that this has never happened to me.

But, my gut reaction is to say, find another product to promote.

Normally when this happens it means it was one buyer who bought every product in the funnel and then did not like the product so asked for a full refund. That's why you lost all 6 sales.

If that's not what happened then there is definitely something shady going on.

Was each commission you made for the same amount, or were they different amounts?

Different amounts usually mean it's one buyer that has bought most or all of the products throughout the funnel.

Also, how far apart were the sales? Did they all come in 5-10 minutes apart? This is another indication that it was one buyer who bought several of the products in the vendor's funnel.

One thing to note If this is in the MMO niche you will find this happens all the time and refunds have been going on for years

I would suggest looking at another product. It is no good to work hard for sales and then see them refunded. I would look for something with good reviews. If you are on clickbank, look for the avg returns. I do not know if jvzoo has that but maybe look for reviews on the product or try the product yourself to see if you like it

It seems to me that if there are no upsells, it's not really a funnel. I'd move on to a different product...

The good news is, most of the web doesn't care about IM products.

Want less/no refunds? Pick a niche that's not IM.

Also do a Google search for your product name and expect to see it posted on Black Hat IM forums.

I think the product is crap that's why it got a 100% refund rate. You may want to look for other products to promote. But keep in mind that these products should be ones that actually help your audience.

Also, you may want to purchase the product you're about to promote and check it out before selling it to others. This gives you more confidence and helps your conscience stay light.

If you don't like the product you purchased, just ask for a refund!

I echo what YourBizAid, not sure what kind of survey product this is but if it is what I think it is then I doubt it gives much value...

Giving your audience value is key to any success in any business, I know it can seem easier to just promote a product that gives a quick fix but if this product sucks that bad then I doubt these buyers will ever buy from you again.

Have to agree with previous posters - it's all about the product, not the niche. I have been promoting MMO/IM products for more than a decade, make a great living at it, and the refunds are negligible. BUT - I also try to purchase the products I promote before I promote them too. Not always practical to buy the whole funnel for a high end product, but I usually actually use the products that I promote, so I actually know whether or not they work.....

This is either because the product is horrible, it is available for free online or the person i question is just a serial refunder.

While I agree with most posts within the thread there are a few other things that I would do before writing this off and also do before spending any money/time promoting another CB product.

1. Give the vendor the benefit of the doubt, we just went thru 2-3 weeks of holidays that many people simply do not check their email as regularly as they should (if they are in any sort of business). Send him/her another email outlining what you have experienced and ask if they would provide you with a review copy - make sure you provide them with your CB name so they can see you actually made sales and they were all refunded.

2. If after 2-3 days the vendor does not respond, walk away, but before you do, report them to CB for not responding to affiliate inquiries and give them the product that is generating the refunds and ask them to check the download of the product to ensure the buyer is receiving it OK.

3. Last, follow Yukon and get away from MMO - everyone seems to gravitate towards it to get started because most everyone else is selling a program or how to system. Once you have found one or more possibilities, contact the seller, inform them that you are interested in promoting their product but would like to review it prior to spending any time/effort/money on doing so.

If the vendor replies within a reasonable amount of time, that is a good sign they are legit and even if they do not offer a no cost copy to review, the mere fact they replied is a plus sign. If they will not provide you with a review copy or access, then if it really, really looks like a great product/service, buy it yourself and review it before moving forward.

6 sales is not a big enough sample to know if it was legit customers or just scammers.

Yeah that is ridiculous that has never happened to me either.

Always research or even buy the product that you are promoting if possible so you know that you are recommending quality products, and you can keep the commissions

100% maybe your customers couldn' t access the product itself a delivery issue or just a horrible product.

Either way its a bad product to promote.

Check your math.

You say the conversion rate is 7%.

By my math, your personal conversion rate is (6 sales - 6 refunds) = 0%.

Sales only count when they stick.

Check what type of traffic you're sending... 6 refunds on 6 sales is fishy.

Either that or the product you're promoting is trash.

It means the product suck!

I sold thousands of copies of one of my product and I have a less than 1% refund rate.

If the product is good, people won't refund.

Might be an inside scam from a shady company. That's why you can't just go around promoting every shiny new object. Affiliate marketing is like a business partnership. You have to know who you're dealing with.

Sold a similar product for over a year, and bought it myself the year before, when I was not initiated into IM.

The product was totally reasonable - sure, the information was available for free, but I didn't know that at the time.

Have you bought this product yourself? You may find that the way it's presented, or the information.

My refund rate is 3%, but that is in my area. Perhaps you can ask your customers why they are angry. Sadly, most people do not request a refund unless they feel they got no value for their money as in zero.

BTW, make sure any videos that you sell are created by native speakers as I just finished seeing a video by a lady who has an accent so thick that I could barely understand a word she was saying. Yeah, she sounds like she attended the Borat school of elocution - scary.

Well look on the bright side, you're refund rate can only get better from here

I suggest reaching out to the vendor.
