Mercola (Can I use Joomla+Aweber) to require users

On Dr. Mecola's site, he has a system that allows users to "see" articles but in order to read them they must subscribe to his database.

Is there a way in Joomla+aweber to require users to signup before they access some articles? Joomla registration is a little cumbersome.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

I believe in Joomla you can use the AEC plugin.

However, I'll give you fair warning before you jump in there.
In Joomla, things tend to break with upgrades. So be very mindful once everything is setup and collecting members. Upgrading for features could shut down your site temp/perm.

Personally, I'd jump on the many Wordpress Membership plugins that perform this same task. I read far less disaster stories with Wordpress development plugins.

It doesn't matter to me if they're in the member database or just in aweber's database.

Anyone have ideas to get this to work in WP or Joomla and aweber?

    Thanks.
