about a year ago i have bought a misspeled domain name of instagram it the same like instagram only the last letter is changed and the the domain name loke like common word/vocabulary typos it got some traffic daily, and i never use it for getting any profit i only installed a simple wordpress theme without any content and tracked his traffic with google analytics,
i have some questions about the domain :

Instagram is probably not that interested, no they will not sue you, and yes you can sel it anyone else who is interested in that kind of trafic. You can auction it off, or an even better idea is to park it, you can still get the analytics AND have ads on it

If you own it it's yours! But instagram might be interested in selling it if your traffic competes with them. Try and reach out see what happens

    These are easy questions ...

Answer 1 - Of course no one here speaks for Instagram, so you should ask them since only they know what they'll buy.

Answer 2 - Probably not, but again, only Instagram can tell what what they will do.

Answer 3 - If you find a buyer that will pay you for it.

Obviously, you want to get rid of the domain which, IMO, is smart. If you make money off the domain, then you could be held liable for profiting from a name and business that you don't own. If I were in your shoes, I would drop the domain as fast as possible without making any money from it . . . but then again, I'm not in your shoes and you are the one at risk.

It would be a very bad idea to contact Instagram.

See results from people who had similar misspellings

"They also argued that the remaining domain names are "obviously" misspellings of their trademarks, that the respondent has no rights or legitimate interests in them, and that they are being used in bad faith." from Instagram and Facebook win in UDRP dispute

I'd let the name expire or delete it right now. Misspelled names of common dictionary words won't likely cause you problems (example Compuetr .com) but trademark misspelled domain names is asking for trouble.

Your country wouldn't make a difference. I wouldn't know if a UDRP would be the only action Instagram (Facebook owned) would take as I don't make their business decisions. If you want to to auction it - you can - but I wouldn't waste any more funds to do such. It's what I call a "hot potato" name as no one would want to hold it long. Likely no one will purchase the name at an auction venue or domain forum IMO. It's too risky.

You can list at Namepros in an auction thread but be ready to be attacked for the trademark issue. Bido is free but I doubt you would get more than $9 for it and minimum payout is $25. My best advice is to delete it or let it expire & consider it a learning lesson.

While I don't speak for Instagram, I can pretty much guarantee that they're either going to tell you to kick rocks or take your domain from you.

Think about this for a second. You're getting traffic that is trying to go to Instagram. Whoever lands on your domain is going to realize it's not Instagram and leave.

The amount of traffic you're getting is likely less than .000000001% of the traffic Instagram gets. And then that traffic goes to Instagram anyways when they realize their mistake. As such, this domain would have no value for Instagram or another developer.

Sure, you may be able to pawn it off on someone who doesn't know any better. But, in my opinion, you're better off focusing your time and effort toward something that will give you returns.

yes if i contact them they will sure take it from me like they take other domains on similar cases like mine, the amount of traffic is not high it like 60 visits a month it not high, put instagram could benift from this To block malevolent use of the typo domain by others, and to not alow any devoloper to redirect the trafic to a competitor

The obvious risk here is a UDRP, and by reaching out to them, you give them everything they need to file one. That being said, I would suggest you just drop the domain, unless its actually getting large amounts of traffic (Talking 500+ visitors a day).

DON'T contact instagram! You'll be buying yourself a problem that you are trying to avoid and they WILL NOT buy it from you. More likely, they will take it from you, which they have every legal right to do.

If you don't have the most sound moral compass, try to unload it ASAP on some naive person and let it be their problem. If you do have a conscience, just cancel the domain and move on - it's not like it is making you any money anyway.
