Advice needed for WF newbie!

Hello everyone,

Just want to introduce myself. I've been been lurking on the forums for a while now and learning so much. I have been in the online marketing/eCommerce space for years now and things have been going well until recently.

Noticed a major drop in traffic and website right now is averaging an 80% bounce rate. Earlier this year did a web re-design and have been adding content daily. We've also been active on Facebook and Instagram with even better content I might add but engagement on those sites have dropped as well. I feel like the ground is just coming out from under me and I have no idea what I may be doing wrong.

Any ideas or assistance will be greatly appreciated.

With the new changes that you have made on your website maybe it is not working because the design it's not enticing to people anymore. Also the new content that you are posting daily it's not as relevant as you may think with the audience that you've got.

    Ask yourself these questions:

Do I target the right audience with my topics and content?
What does people find interesting about my site?
How other see my site? It seems enticing?
Do I keep people motivated to keep reading and/or watching my content to the end?

It's all well and good to post content daily. But make sure they're high quality and relevant to your readers. Or they'll be clicking on to the next website

Is there any update recently from your main traffic source? If so, check out what are the new updates.

Or you products you are selling have a different season?

Lastly, keep posting quality content, like videos and viral contents which are the basic.

Hello i also strugle in this field the thing its to never put all your eggs in 1 basket .For example if you stick only with search engine traffic you can find it decreases and you cry after you work many years .I like to combine thing like seo youtube traffic forum traffic etc .Now i also combine networks as some of them start to shave me hard

Hi all! thank you for your input. It's comforting to read your messages.

Funny enough, we've received nothing but glowing feedback about the site's new design. We spent a lot of time, effort and resources to build the most user friendly experience. Content quality has also improved so much from over the years and I try to make sure it is relevant to what our users expect. I sell products in the wellness category and I wouldn't consider it to be seasonal.

Spartan, you make a really good point about not putting all my eggs in one basket. Search traffic has been our main driver for the past few years and it seems it's getting tougher to rank for anything. We just started using social media and I'm working on getting Youtube and podcast going. I recently started using FB ads and I find that it's great for awareness but the conversion is terrible. I'm looking into PPC as well.

At this point I feel like I'm just throwing darts to the wall to see what sticks and it just feels all over the place. I also feel like I might be missing something.

Is there anyone that is extremely proficient with this field that wouldn't mind looking at my site and giving me some feedback.
We average 100k visits a month, eCommerce conversion is averaging .1%.

might be a server load issue, loading to slow, that rocks bounce
also, if lag has been hitting server for a while, its a major thing now in seo ranking
so a slow down months ago, would hurt seo and stuff now then the speed and bounce all makes sense
also the new design might have impacted speed
big sites aim for 500ms and most retail is no more than 2 seconds
    https://tools.pindom.com

test your site and the grades will probably be bad since most are not wpo pros

but it will show open time, and after 1 second you lose 2.5% of users for every 1/10th of a second

so simple math, 2 seconds you off 25%
    3 seconds you off 50%
    4 seconds you off 75%
5 seconds you are out of biz

so new design might impact a clean browser, so you got cache and don't notice it

the tool is fresh and gives you speed data and the numbers I gave you are legit for loss of biz

    good luck

This was my first thought as well. Maybe your redesign slowed things up a bit.

Are you using Google Webmaster Tools?

      Maybe check that out.
