Gimmicks in Internet Marketing

Hello there fellow Warriors,

I was having a chat with a friend of mine (a long time marketer) and he was telling me that generally people (especially newbies in the IM market) crave for gimmicks if we can call them that. In other words a product called Ultimate Money-Making Machine with a ridiculous big promise headline (make xxxxx$ on autopilot in just 15 days) can outdo another product who doesn't play on people's emotions and desires.

What's your take on this folks.

    Nathan,

Yes you need someway of standing out from the competition with a results based headline. Take a look at some of the ads you see out there and find some that you relate to and model them.

Hello Chris, thank you for your replies.

You are 100% right on the headline. But what about the product name, the landing page, graphics, "earnings" etc.

I feel like a website called Advanced Millionaire System for example, with lots of fake earnings and outlandish claims can outdo a more serious website with less photos of beaches, expensive cars and big mansions.

It seems people are more attracted to supernatural fixes or magic bullets.

Of course the product must be very good and helpful, but I feel like people are so apathetic towards changing their lives for the better that they need a powerful nudge or a strong potion of feel-good branding to get their dopamine flowing and make them take action.

Dreamers aren't interested in reality so there is very little market for it.

Give the market what they want.
