Beginners, Change Your Mindset Or Perish In The Flames

Hey,

Thought I'd do this quick little test

Be honest now....

Ready?

Which of the following best describes how you approach making money online so far?

(a) I want to make lots of money online

(b) I want to run a profitable and sustainable business

If you answered (a) then good luck, you won't start seeing any type of serious cash until you change to (b).

I don't know for the rest of you but I stumbled across internet marketing via the old google search engine after numerous variations of ''make money online''. Even when I found the legit business model of internet marketing the ''make money online'' line of thought was still dominant and thus it held me back even though I had all the tools and education required at WealthyAffiliate to succeed.

Then one day I just shifted my perception and said ''hey I'm going to start a business online...not just a stupid hobby of writing an article a week or doing a bit of ppc''

The rest is becoming history

So in conclusion, just having a mindset that focuses on your visitors happiness and not yours can x100 your income potential

    Yes, the IM is all about mindset.

    The mindset, the attitude determines
    if the person will perish in flames or
    flourish in his success.

    It is about changing your perspective

    I think mindset is very important. Knowing your motivations behind wanting to start an internet business can help as well. For me, I live in an isolated, rural area, and working on the internet means I don't have to be away from my kids 11 hours a day.

    I don't know how people with day jobs stay motivated. It would be really hard for me if I was already making money at something else. It would be a challenge. Maybe that is one of the reasons that so many seem to dabble in IM and then disappear?

      The key I think is to educate yourself.

      You can waste years just dabbling, or trying to do it as a hobby. Also the speed of change on the internet hurts the small part timer, who's focus is just "how do I make money". You end up chasing about a 100 different leads and not going anywhere.

      Focus on a sustainable business and let the internet, or technological changes happen around that sustainable business.

    If someone wants to make a lot of money, there is no "rule" that says they cannot do it because they think that way.

    Are you saying people are selling penis enlargement and acne CPA products because they want to run a sustainable business? Sure that may be true, but trust me, they are doing it because they want to make a lot of money and do it fast

    The TOP IM earners are not posting threads like these, they are too busy MAKING A LOT OF MONEY to be concerned about how the next guy "views" Internet marketing.

    It' s business to me now. Used to be different at first.

    If you can't imagine yourself making money online, it will never work. And if you approach it like business, it's a lot different from the get rich quick stuff and it works.

    I think most people who "stumble" across internet marketing jump on board b/c they hear, read, or think that it is easy or quick money. Coming in with the mindset usually puts them behind the people that understand that if it was quick/easy then we would all be rolling in cash.

      True. Another way to say it is, If it was easy to make money on the internet... then everyone would do it.

      My biggest motivation for becoming a copywriter, which is an internet business, is that I want to make someone else's life better in some way.

      Sound wierd? Well, when you sell the right product to the right person, you are solving some problem that the buyer has. This is my main goal in copywriting. It keeps me honest and it lets me get excited about products that truly help someone.

      Hey, the money works, too - I ain't stupid. But to me, it's kind of a sub-motivational factor. Okay- make that a wee tad sub-motivational.

      But the desire to help someone else enjoy their trip around the sun is deep and strong. Copywriting is my way of doing this.

    My first approach on making money online is a).

    So I started by joining a lot of program that offers good incentives.
    But I ended up with nothing but a waste of time.
    But that's story of two years ago...

    Now, I am running quite a good "business".
    But there's a lot to improve, still...
    Compare to other IM that start the same time with me...
    I am legging behind them...
    This is not good...
