Amazon: i need help understanding impressions

Hello Warriorforum

I am a complete beginner with Amazon Affiliate links, but i have been testing a facebook-page, where i have gotten a few clicks this week. But as many others i have the problem of not getting sales. I understand that it is completely normal to have no sales with 156 clicks.

BUT what i don't understand is how i can have this few impressions, at only 11? and a click-through-rate of 1418 % (see my attached picture).

could someone please explain this phenomenon? is this a problem and why? and what am i doing wrong?

Impressions are the number of times your amazon link is shown to a visitor.
i.e. if a visitor opens your web page (Facebook or whatever) and that page has one amazon link on it then you have one impression.

If the same page has 5 amazon links then you have five impressions.

If 5 different people open the page with one amazon link you have five impressions.

If the same person opens your page (with one link) 5 different times, again five impressions.

There may some filtering by IP address/cookie/time to make clicks more unique but don't worry about that at this point.

Click Through is the percentage of links clicked on.

    i.e. 100 impressions/5 links clicked = 5% click through.

So in your case the stats are saying that there are only 11 impressions but those were clicked multiple times. About 15 times each on average from the numbers. Or one clicked 156 times.

That is unlikely to be a real life scenario.

    So possibilities are:

    1. You are checking your own pages and clicking on your own links to see if they are working.
    2. You (or someone) sent some robotic or paid to click traffic to the page.
    3. Amazon's system has hiccuped. (unlikely)

Realistically 11 impressions is very little and nowhere near enough to have valid stats.

Assuming you avoid all of the above it is likely that your stats will start to look more realistic after a few hundred/thousand impressions.

Also try looking deeper into the stats to see which link/s had the clicks.

If you can't do that the look up how to use tracking ID's so you can in the future. You need to know exactly what link gets what clicks if you want to win in this game
