That is going to depend on the person receiving the item. Most people probably won't care as they'll be happy to have their item, however there will be some that will make an issue about it. If this is really a big enough deal to you, you should seek out a supplier who has the option to ship as a gift.

Depends: if you never find out you could have gotten it for $100 less from Walmart, you'd do nothing.

But if you do find out you could have gotten if for $100 less from Walmart, what would you do?

I don't know about all people on earth, but I know a good number of them would be pissed off... write you bad reviews, ask for their money back, complain to wallmart, complain to their father, threaten to break your legs (or worse)...

If you're in it for the long run, do you want that?

Of course, if you got it at Walmart for less than I could have, If you got it at Walmart and I'm not the kind of person who has the time or inclination to go to Walmart and look for it, wait till it's on sale, etc., then you're adding value to me (you're becoming my shopper/my discount finder) and, then, I would not mind that you made some money.

Of course, getting the stuff directly from a company that makes the stuff (from the people that sell to Walmart, or people like that) would be more profitable (you'd be cutting Walmart profit desire out of the picture).

What you're doing, people call arbitrage... and it works well for some, badly for others. The devil is in the setup.

I think you need to look into what is called "drop shipping." Maybe you've heard that term before. You sell an item, notify the wholesaler of the sale and where to ship the item, you pay for it, and the drop shipper sends the product to the buyer without your further involvement.

The challenge with drop shipping and other forms of selling physical products, is making the numbers work for the system you employ. In order to sell right, you've got to buy right and keep your costs down so there is enough profit to take care of all your expenses and then some.

Can you do that buying from Walmart, Amazon, or other retailers that sell cheap? I don't know but my feeling is that it would be a real challenge. It's why many physical product sellers target close-outs, clearance items, old version products, and large quantity discounts ... to make the numbers work. It's a tough competitive business - not for the faint of heart.

If I order from you and I get a Walmart box with an invoice showing a much lower price, I'm contesting the credit card charge on the basis of fraud. Not because you cheated me - you did - but because I'd be worried about identity theft or stolen credit cards used to buy the item, or some other criminal activity.

Why in the world would you use Walmart as your dropshipper? If I ordered something from you and it came from Walmart, I'd never order from you again. Even if you had another ad that enticed me, I'd just go find the item at Walmart because I know that's what you're doing.

There are real dropshipping companies you can use instead of Walmart. If you're going to use a dropshipping model, do it in a better way than this.

I would say test this out for a little while before you come to conclusions.

This is basically dropshipping. Right. And a lot of the time people only care about getting their product. I don't think it would be a big deal. Like I said, test this out for a while and see how it goes.

That would be the only way you are going to learn if this is a good idea or not!
