Quora.com Ads - Untapped Traffic Source??

Hi Warriors!

I've recently started playing with Quora.com Ads.

Quora is one of the most popular sites for questions and answers. Currently with a Global Alexa Ranking of 103. That's a great ranking if you asked me.

I created an ad to promote a lead magnet last month (February).

My results

I got 432 impressions - 2 clicks at $0.19 cents. The conversion was 100%.

The two people that clicked on my ad opted in for the lead magnet.

So I got 2 new subscribers for $0.19 cents each. That's not too bad, right.

But, it took about one entire month for this to happen (30 days).

I tweaked the Targeting here and there to see what would get me more impressions and clicks but haven't found a way to increase them. Maybe my Ad Copy needs improvement. Or my targeting could be better.

I don't know. I'm still learning.

My question here is; has anybody tried Quora Ads?

If so, what kind of results have you gotten, so far?

I would like to get some good tips to get more results on this platform. I know it has a lot of potentials.

I welcome your advice and feedback.

      It looks like it is a good way to get paid traffic for a good price if you do everything correctly. I didn't know about it until the beginning of this year.

    So for the whole month.... you only got 2 clicks? Why would you waste anymore time on it? I understand the 100% conversion and $0.19 cents per click.... but doesn't sound effective - nor worthwhile.

      Yeah, I'd like to say these are not bad results despite the amount of time it took to get only 2 clicks and 2 subscribers. I think my ad copy needs a lot of work. We'll see.

    What niche were you testing?

    I have an account but haven't run any ads yet because I currently don't promote anything I think will get much action.

    I think given the right niche you might do very well.

      Blogging Niche and Internet Marketing Niche.

      I have also tried running an ad for Clickbank in the Gaming Niche. Got 5 clicks in about 2 days at $0.20 cents each and 0% conversion. I was just testing the niche with a Clickbank offer. I think the Sales Page was not good. But, this showed there is definitely potential to get faster results in other niches.

      I would highly recommend testing different niches. That's what I plan to do!

    Thanks for sharing, I use Qoura to respond as well as my VAs, to get our name out there. but I haven't considered it for ads.

    I am launching one right now after reading your post, i can't believe I haven't thought of that . You rock!

      That's good to know. I think this is an untapped traffic source for most internet marketers, but I could be wrong. I haven't seen anyone talk about it anywhere online like that.

    This is why we can not have nice things anymore ! let the gaming begin one bit of advice they are on the look out for spammers or MMO ads and they will decimate you

          Well, the forum thread you referred to is talking about the free section and not the paid ads. I have already tested with Clickbank affiliate links and I was able to get my ad approved and got a few clicks. So I'm not sure what exactly you are talking about here!

    You look so familiar; swear I've seen you somewhere before

    I've not used Quora ads and had no idea such ads existed. Way cool methinks if you persistently feel good using this approach because it is a monstrous market. Just today I hopped back into doing Quora right again. Burned out for a few months but back helping folks and having fun.

    I've used Quora for asking and answering questions, but I've never run any ads there. I may just do a test ad there and see what kind of results it produces.

    The problem could be:


    you have to bid MORE. the quantity of clicks you received are too less than expected. Maybe you have to bid a reasonable price.

    Adjust copy: but you have received so few subscribers and few optins that imho the main problem is the first.

    It's definately a new ads market with people looking for free infos instead of buying mode.

      I have thought about this. There are many factors that can be improved and worked on.

      But, I think the big one is going to be the Ad Copy. I'm still tweaking and learning as I go.

    I tried to find a "Contact Us" section on Quora's website and on their advertising site, but all I found was "Ask New Question." I couldn't ask a new question because I'm not a member of Quora.

    So hopefully you'll be able to answer this:

    Does Quora allow paid ads that include Clickbank hop links, so that I'd be direct linking to Clickbank products without using a landing page or website?

    I would buy a domain name for each product I sell, instead of a using link shortener. I would then forward the domain name to the Clickbank product.

    I know it's far better to have a landing page or website to build a list. But I can't help wondering about direct linking using Quora ads.

      If you know it's better to have a landing page and build a list why do you want to do something else?

      If you really want to know what the Quora T&Cs allow then sign up and read the t&cs. If still not sure ask them directly.

      It is the only way you can be sure to get the right answer.

      If an affiliate link is not allowed then a redirected affiliate link will not be allowed.

      Also no point in buying a domain name for each product. If you mean you will use a variation of the product name then you will likely break the terms of the vendor or a may have a copyright issue.

      Get one name or brand type domain and use that to create any short/pretty links. i.e. billblogs.com/FreeTrafficSystem

      I've actually did a test with a Clickbank product and used the hoplink - of course I masked it and used my own domain with it.

      They did approve my ad and I got 5 clicks with zero conversions. Aside from the fact that my test failed it showed that they probably allow affiliate links as long as you mask them and use your own domain name. But, you would never know unless you keep trying.

    I have only been answering questions on Quora and generated a lot of views from that. I have never used the Quora Ads before. In fact, the Ads stuff looked so strange to me.

      I would believe that. They do take a few days to approve an ad sometimes.

    I started it after reading this thread, and found it crappy. FB Ads are much better and cheaper both in terms of targeting and reporting. Quora Ads has to evolve a lot.

    I really like Quora Q and A, but things have certainly gone quieter of late
    and I hope this is not the shape of things to come?

    As for ads on this platform, well, I've heard similar situations to yours in that, it
    it's a slow-burn process, but they seem like genuine prospects.
