User Generated Content - How to Handle URL's Deleted by Users
Hi All,
Can anyone help me as I am unable to understand how can I manage URL's deleted by users on my website.
We have a User generated content CMS. Users create courses on our website, URL generated and then delete the content results in increase in 404 Errors on the website. I have tried the following:
1.) Custom 404 Page
2.) Instead of deleting the course, we do not delete course from our database but will not be visible on the user dashboard once the user delete the course. In this case, 404 error got resolved but results in Soft 404.
Neither above mentioned solution helped me in resolving the 404 Issue on my website. How others handle this kind of issue.
My major concern is, custom 404 page won't help in reduction of 404 pages, but it is just a design which we load for 404 Errors. But the 404 Error graph keeps on increasing.
Please advise.
