Turning Music into $$$

Hey guys, so i just wanted a little bit of feedback on my idea

It seems like lately as a musician the industry has shifted to streaming, no one wants to download

That is ok, but it's been really tough for independent musicians

I have noticed there is still a huge demand for royalty free music for youtubers though, but that is switching to free also... Labels like no copyright sounds are dominating, and people on audio jungle are freaking out cuz they are getting less and less sales

My idea is really simple, I think I will just use mgcash's soundcloud locker to monetize my downloads. Look it up, it is really slick. Just a cpa content locker for audio tracks

I am thinking of running fb ad campaign targeting gaming youtubers...

Should i also try to do solo ads within the internet marketing world? Is there a demand from people here for upbeat electronic dance music? Dubstep, house?

Should I even bother building a landing page or just send people straight to soundcloud?

Ok, thanks, I hope to hear your guys thoughts, to refine this idea

A landing page would be more efficient. You have a better chance of making a healthy profit. I f you send them directly to the sales page. They may go there once and never return. So if I were you I'd stick with the landing page.

    Thanks for reply kayme

Sticking w my idea of content locking royalty free music, what kind of offer would be better, package deal or slow drip the songs?

    It would either be:
Royalty free EDM, get a free track sent to your inbox every day for 7 days! ( each track I could profit from

    Or 2.
Royalty free EDM, download 7 free tracks instantly (then just use a link locker or content to the download page)

What would be more appealing as a customer? Better for me making a profit?

    Emberz,

If I were you, the very first thing I would do is set up a way to gather an audience so you can market your music to them over time. You do that by building a list of subscribers (contacts) that have an interest in your music. If you send leads to anywhere but your sign-up capture page, you are just wasting the promotion you are doing.

Musicians and other "creative types" (artists, photographers, writers, etc) often have a difficult time monetizing their work using old marketing strategies.

YouTube has already started addressing that demand with a library of thousands of their own royalty-free audio tracks that can be used by anyone for their videos. Maybe you haven't seen this yet.

Steve B I have tried that. Problem isn't building a list of fans, that is easy. Problem is monetizing. Do you think that monetizing thru cpa locker is effective?

I have build list of around 500 email subscribers 2 times for two different music projects, was never able to monetize effectively, problem is of course people don't really buy music anymore, maybe a few people sign up for patreon or buy a shirt, Buy on iTunes, not enough to make consistent income

Do you think buying solo ads from people in the Internet marketing world would be a good idea? And monetizing w cpa lockers?

Would you set up in the middle of an apple orchard where people can just pick them off the trees for free and expect those people to jump through hoops to get the identical apples from you?

You are beating a dead horse.
