How I Got Started In Amazon Marketing And My First Profitable Website

In this post, I am going to talk about how I got started in Amazon marketing and my first website.

I actually got started in 2011 and at that time, I was at the lowest point of my internet marketing career and journey.

You see, ever since I got started in 2008, I have been promoting information products mainly from Clickbank.

Though my initial venture was in Paydotcom founded by reowned guru Mike Filsaime and now taken over by Shawn Casey, I have been hookwinked into thinking and promoting information products are the best way to progress since they pay higher, faster and without the hassles of shipping / delivery costs.

But the problem is every internet marketing guru teaches their students the same things that -

1. Clickbank is the best and ONLY affiliate marketing network on Earth that all affiliates should start with globally.

2. Secondly they have been taught that make money online and health niches are the best and only ones they should go after especially internet marketing and weight loss.

So what happens?

Well, your guess is as good as mine.

Every internet marketing student does the same thing. Building squeeze pages, blogs and sending emails on ONLY internet marketing and weight loss e-books and video courses.

The market becomes saturated and when most don't make money, they straightaway became judgmental and dismissed the whole internet marketing as total BS.

Without understanding that online business is the same as offline business.

Minus the start-up costs of rental, inventory and staff hiring etc.

That you can promote anything that either helps to solve people problems and fulfill their desire.

But here is the cold hard truth.

Finding good profitable products can be a hassle and time-consuming if you just research on Google and -

Even if you find good affiliate programs, you may not get accepted straightaway as some owners prefer more experienced marketers to promote for them because at the end of the day, what they are only concerned with is profits.

So I have been wondering if there is just ONE network that I can get approved fast and start promoting fast so that I can get paid fast?

Besides Clickbank.

That is when I discovered the potential earning power of Amazon. Even though I already knew about it in 2009, my focus was on Clickbank since that was what i was conditioned to.

My very first Amazon affiliate website was built in Nov 2011 and on Automatic Espresso machines which I found very cool and saw in great demand by most offices and homes.

It was very ugly to me even though some of you may say it is nice since I only promote 3 espresso machines and did not make any money from it.

It was only 2 years later in 2013 that I began to earn my first $100 to $500 from promoting air purifiers.

And this website was built in the month of July when my country Singapore was facing the worst haze weather due to burning forests in my neighbouring country Indonesia.

it has undergone 3 major WordPress theme changes before i decided on this one.

All I did was posting classified ads in sites like Adlandpro, Adpost, Craiglist and Gumtree all targetting my country Singapore and neightbours Malaysia and Indonesia. You can find by Googling them.

And most people buy.

Then I began posting on Facebook fanpages, Google Plus, Pinterest and Twitter with a link to my PDF e-magazine-and-catalogue providing what people need to know about purifiers before recommending the best ones.
