Can't seem to generate consistent leads. Any advice/suggestions?

Little bit of a back story.

Okay so I work for an auto finance brokerage that acts as an arm of a larger company. We operate as contractors that sell financing to subprime customers anywhere in the country (not in the US). Most of our business comes from a call center that follows up and solicits old customers, cold calls and word of mouth. The company has been running for 22 years and has been quite successful for it. But those old customer files can only last so long.

We've done Facebook, Instagram and Google Ads. At first the Facebook Ads showed good results as we funneled them to our website and it generated leads. The Instagram also started off pretty successful then absolutely died off. We don't have a huge marketing budget because we budget for staff and other necessities, but from what we've spent we can see it's worth it for what we've earned.

But now It seems like I get 0 traction on anything I am promoting. We brought in a "Digital Marketer" in our business to try and get things running, for sometime he was successful and the credit apps we got via our efforts we actually converted leads on. Then after awhile his efforts were fading and we asked for new ideas and more performance while he asked for a bigger pay check. Eventually he couldn't tell us what was wrong with our optimization so we let him go because we couldn't justify the expense.

I emulate my competitors on Facebook and do what they do, because they're successful. Yet my ads are going nowhere in terms of generating us any revenue.

My question; what resources can I utilize to better my ROI, if any, and tell me what I'm doing wrong with my ads and start getting me some leads. I'm full time here but I am also a uni student so I will try my best to explore all options.

*Thanks for all advice in advance. It is appreciated*

You need to go through your competitors sales funnel fully to understand where you are coming short. Adbeat, whatrunswhere can tell you where your competitors are advertising and the ads they are running, number of days they are running.

I would create a strong content marketing strategy. Content helps to pre-qualify your leads so more will actually close. Plus, it gives you something to share all over social media instead of just relying on ads.

Where are the Facebook/Insta ads failing...getting the click, sticking with your content/ad or are the click through's approx the same but for some reason your sales funnel is faltering?

Campaigns need to be constantly updated (new images/videos/content) or your competition may have come in and raised its game...then again something may have changed in your sales funnel (or even more likely between the message in the ad and sales funnel match)

Honestly, it's hard to give any hard advice without seeing your campaigns in detail; ad copy, website, landing pages, etc.

I suspect this is an issue with your copy and offer.

In regards to digital advertising, I've found Google Search Ads to drive prospects that are further down the sales funnel than Facebook prospects. It makes sense considering they're actively searching for what you have to offer when they're presented with your ad.

Personally I'd go back to basics.

What is the relationship like between the finance company and the car dealers?

Has anyone set up a nurturing campaign via the call centre to call dealers and ask them who they are referring business to and why?

What is he commission structure like in relation to rewarding the car dealers and how can you improve that so you become the best referred finance option.

Has anyone physically visited the dealers where the most revenue came from in the past?

Maybe send out a few foot troops on the ground to see if there is anything going on in and around the dealers and note if the competition is getting support or marketing in that space.

Social and search can only support what is put in front of the prospects everyday.

Maybe some of the good old offline relationship building can go a long way.

    Best regards,

    Ozi

  • SealTeamTwix,

    Time to dig deeper.
-- Get to really know the current relevant searches of your ideal prospects in Google.
-- Get to really know their relevant shares and discussions in related social media groups.

You'll get better ideas on how to captivate, entice and compel them to positively respond to your offers.
And you'll also learn where to place your ads and organic content.
But don't forget to integrate remarketing and retargeting into your landing pages and other content posts in your site.
This way, you'll be able to follow up with prospects who've already shown an initial interest in your offers, through new ads and organic content.

And have you explored certain opportunities for co-marketing partnership arrangements with other non-competing brands, social media influencers, site owners, bloggers and the like?
