Affiliate Marketing: Tips for successful outreach
This is my first forum post, and I am excited to become an active member of the community!
I've been working in the affiliate space for a little over a year now, and I recently have been asked to build an affiliate program for a client of mine. Things have been going well, but I find that the biggest obstacle when growing a new program is conducting a successful outreach campaign to on-board new partners. Shocker... right??
My query is for those of you who on the affiliate side of the equation:
What do you look for when vetting a new affiliate program or product? Payout? Relevance? Product reputation?
I'm sure you look at all of these when deciding if an offer is worth pursuing, but I'm curious what you find to be most valuable to you as the affiliate.
I'm also curious to know if anyone has advice regarding drafting compelling outreach emails; ones that actually have a chance of being opened, rather than gathering dust in pile of hundreds of other unsuccessful proposals. Please feel free to share examples subject lines or quotes that stood out to you, good and bad.
Any feedback would be much appreciated!
Thank you,
