Paypal and instant payment scripts

Paypal has been in the news of late for limiting and closing many accounts for TOS violations. Does that mean marketers won't be able to use "instant payment" scripts like the 7 Dollar script, RAP and other such scripts/plugins?

There's been quite a few successful IMers that have lost their Paypal accounts recently, causing a lot of speculation as to the cause, many thinking it has something to do with using instant payments with Paypal.

Quite a few of them are jumping ship from JVZoo to Warrior Plus and Clickbank. I know Warrior Plus has made some changes recently, but JVZ hasn't. I think I'll probably switch from JVZ to Warrior Plus myself shortly, just to be sure.

Here's what Mike Lantz of Warrior Plus has to say about the issue:

"O the times they are a changing."

Just more retrofitting of the Internet. Scammers, spammers, and other assorted low-lives are to thank.

    I think it's awesome!

kurt - Didn't paypal close down a bunch of folks over the $7 script years ago, too?

I don't see anything new in those comments - and he didn't mention the rise in the number of 'marketers/sellers' online who are lying about location to their audience, on forums, to buyers and probably....to paypal. Article seems designed to sell W+ new payment method and functions...

I think Mike's smart to implement these changes now - ahead of the crowd as usual.

The title sounds as if Paypal is in trouble - with over 250 milliion accts that's not the case. The bigger and more stable a company becomes, the less incentive there is for that company to take a risk on potential 'bad players'.

What is new is Paypal has been closing accounts of some respected IMers. Conjecture isn't limited to just instant payments. I've seen people also bring up being in the EU and the GDPR.

Also new, correctly or not, is IMers are no longer preferring instant payments which may (or may not) put their Paypal accounts at risk. Before, you couldn't get major affiliates to promote your products without offering instant payments. Now, they're quickly shifting to preferring delayed.

IMO, this is a very important shift for those in the IM/MMO market, both as a product creator and affiliates as well. I'm moving to W+ from JVZ not only from my own worries, but because people that have promoted my products as affiliates that I've talked to now prefer delayed payments using W+'s wallet.

Doubt about ones Paypal account is a powerful motivator.

A very good move by PayPal.
Affiliate marketing is not seen as a viable long term business model by them.

After I started seeing a lot of big marketers posting that they had lost their PP accounts, I immediately began to think about how I could limit the risk to my online income. That, of course, would involve taking PayPal out of the equation any chance I had. Don't get me wrong. I still like PayPal and still use it, but just not nearly as much for my online business.

Warrior Plus has implemented a bunch of new systems that have been working great for me. I have basically stopped getting instant commissions. I let all of my commissions go directly to my W+ wallet now, and then after 7 days I can withdraw them via PayPal, Stripe, or a new company called Veem that W+ is now working with. I just had my Veem account approved, and for my next withdrawal I plan to give them a shot to see just how seamless it goes (or not).

I know there would be no problem with Stripe if I withdrew my wallet to them just once a week. They would then transfer the money to my bank account. Veem offers the same type of service.

I believe JVZoo is also working on alternate ways to get affiliates paid, but as of right now you can contact vendors directly and many will agree to pay you your commissions via paper check. I am promoting an upcoming launch there where a very well known vendor has agreed to pay me via check.

I'm not sure whether or not the issues and closures were caused by instant commissions or adaptive payments. I'm not sure anybody knows exactly why all this happened. There is a load of speculation going on, and even some fighting back and forth between vendors, affiliates, and the affiliate networks.

As of right now a lot of successful marketers have started launching on Clickbank again. I have been promoting Clickbank and W+ products only for the last few weeks, because that allows me to not have to rely on PayPal at all.

I think we all are a little bit to blame for what happened. First, when instant commissions became a "thing," it brought out a lot of scammers and inexperienced people who didn't know a thing about running a business or online marketing. It brought out a lot of "get rich quick" minded people and others who were willing to do almost ANYTHING to make an affiliate commission. I think that all had a lot to do with the current situation we now find ourselves in.

Also, we all began to rely on PayPal way too much! Nothing against PayPal, but we all know that you should NEVER put all your eggs in one basket! And that's EXACTLY what lots of us did.

In the end, I believe the niche and the vendors and affiliates operating in it will be much better off because of this. I think in the end it will be a positive thing.

JVZoo has said in their FB group that they were told by Paypal that the reason for the recent bans was NOT the adaptive payments. I wonder what the truth really is?

Been a While since i have been on Wf and very impressed on how the site has Changed.

Anyhow, On that Point, Change is Coming to Paypal i beleive as Even Ebay is Departing in the near Future From Paypal to another Payment processing Company i read on Forbes Sometime ago before Christmas.

Can understand why Paypal is Restricting Accounts the Payment processor company been doing it for Sometime to be Honest Not just in IM but on Ecom sites and sales also With their Paypal 21 day Restriction to Withdraw Funds Which stops New Ebay Sellers Starting up.

I recently found this article on University of Southern California website regarding Paypal deplatforming essay writing companies.

    http://scalar.usc.edu/works/interest...iting-services

Do you think it really works or just pushes this industry to go for alternative payment methods especially BitCoin payments?
