Concept creation - online or offline?

Have worked for years in offline businesses where concept creation was a key part of building new ideas and developing commercial opportunities.

Reading through the forum, which I've been a member of for a few years without posting much, I've paid attention to the various ideas generated almost on a daily basis without getting too involved. Or maybe they are variations on a theme rather than new ideas.

Concept creation is quite literally the spark of a new idea, backed up with a wider concept development thought and a platform for pushing on to make a living.

Ideas such as aweeidea seoiskey mmojv abusinessedge and prehabilitation are all in the workshop just now. Anyone else in this game and is it relevant to online marketers who always appear to be looking for an edge?

One way to test, the trial balloon, or even a thread. I've started several here and elsewhere seeking general opinions regarding new ideas or new ways of doing things.

Just this week, I asked about COACHES, if it would be a good idea to pursue an idea where coaches (of all kinds) could be vetted, and where people looking for a coach could come to find one to match.

What happens, if you get any responses at all, is you have to note who says what. Opinions on forums like this one are pretty meaningless, unless you know, trust and respect the person giving more than a time wasting comment.

So, one could float an idea at several specific forums, gather and sort the feedback, and enter the next step in the Proof Of Concept stage, or decide to abandon the idea for now or forever.

Whether a concept gives someone an edge or not, might depend as much on the WHO as the what. If a major guru releases a new concept, his followers may make it an instant success, whereas the avg. Warrior, with the exact same concept might struggle to have it recognized.

I'm a big believer in testing, if you know what and how to test, before too much time is spent on a concept which isn't going anywhere.

And a decent test is with the TARGET market involved. What do you think?

I kinda believe that if it works, it should work for you right now.
Why should someone try to reach the world and make a million dollars when they haven't sold this "thang" to anyone on the block?

So as Gordon said above, and I add, that if an idea is good, let it prove itself on the small scale. I think it wise to start locally and get to "know" the market that your idea appeals to - all of this is doable at the lowest cost possible. But as you realize successes here and there, you also gain mastery of the reach and appeal to one market and can then expand and outreach to other geographic areas and then finally do worldwide marketing.

Growing in steps and learning along the way has always made the success of today's BIG companies.

Good reminder guys. Learning this much more every day. Get the concept down, know it'll sell by testing, then take things from there.

If you would rather base your business decision on DATA instead of opinion or GUT FEEL, look for similar niche concepts on Google Trends

    How do they stack up?

Look up their keywords using Google KPT and do a quick search of competitors

How are they positioning the 'near concept'?

    Any indicators of success?

A good idea markets itself but a bad one will die as soon as it is brought forth. so to me, you need to let the market sort itself out. If the idea is good, it will flourish without much effort.

idea creation and development works both ways if you target the right audience. The approach to both methods are even similar.

For example: I have the best coffee in the world which is ancient tree coffee, the coffee are harvested from ancient coffee trees 1000 years ago.

If I build a website, say if you drink my ancient tree coffee for a long time. You at least can live to 100 years old Is this a good concept creation?
