How to market a product that costs less than $2?

It can also depend on how niche your product is. A product with a very specific customer base might see better results going the social media path and posting in groups specifically related to your product. It won't cost you anything to target your customer base.

I think the price of the product should not be the main factor when deciding to market a product. Look at it this way supposing you spent $10 on one add that gets to 1000 people out of which 100 decide to buy the product. You will have a revenue of $200. Supposing your profit margin is $0.5. You end up with profit right?

Run a content-rich blog showing off knowledge of the product. And showing off knowledge of your niche. Market effectively. Be generous and patient. In time, you will generate a buzz.

Is it a physical product or a digital one? Do you have costs of delivering it to the customer or no?

Do you have laddering in place--a higher ticket, complimentary or expansive offer for some of the $2 buyers to buy? That's how most marketers make their money: on the back end, not the front.

If your products are digital and therefore have zero cost of fulfillment, and you have a $10 product that's your upsell...if 1 in 10 of the $2 buyers gets it, you can "lose" a dollar on the sale of every front end product, have a cost of customer acquisition of $3, and still break even.

Of course, I would direct you to make your upsell $20 or $40 to make life much easier for yourself.

The main idea is to develop a buyers list. That's your asset.

It's good that you are thinking about your numbers...only a fraction of sellers do.

If it provides a value then do it as you would promote any other offer

I am just curious to know what on earth are you marketing at just $2. Can you disclose it?

For a product that is 2$, I think you consider that providing a lot of value for a lower price is attractive for your target audience. And that can be true!

But you will have to find ways to advertise your product without spending money. My suggestion is to do a lot of content marketing, while also going to social media groups where your audience is and promote your product and your content that markets it.

And, you should also think of a way to encourage your readers to share your product. Maybe attach facebook comments and let them participate in a conversation while attracting more eyes to it. Or maybe make a contest and offer some kind of reward.

You will have to get creative about it.

For that kind of product i think the best practice is SEO, social media (non-paid) that requires low cost however it may take time and effort to grow, this practice will not give instant result but will profit you in the long term especially with that 2$ price. In case you don't want to wait, you could run some 5$ campaigns on facebook, google or youtube to test if the cost is low, maybe you need to test a lot. If you have a decent amount of money and willing to invest in the first place, and you are certain that your product can go viral, the best practice is making a viral video or viral post and use facebook ads, or leverage youtube and influencer, Of course this method is dangerous and costs a huge amount of invest.

If you do "searches" on Google on what your product is or what your product does (including what it solves)... are there youtube videos shown on the front page of search results? If so, then you can produce better videos and outrank them... which can be done in a short period. Make the video title the problem you solve that you are trying keyword rank in. Repeat that at the top of your video description along with links to the purchase URL or blog URL (so people can easily click without scrolling) - follow with a good description.

Create a YouTube channel using your product niche (Example - name the channel "article creating software" if that is what your product does). There's more to it ranking high in YouTube with videos but less competition makes it easier especially with long tail keywords (4-6 keyword length terms people search for). If you can produce a few videos around your product which target problems you solve or make easier that people search for - you can have free targeted traffic if your video ranks well.

I agree with social media groups that have an interest in your product, would be a great place to advertise. High impulse low cost items will interest your target group. Of course you will have to sell more items so that you can cover your ad costs plus perhaps make a bit of profit, but this way is great way to offer a backend product to increase your profits, and or a great way to acquire a customer base.

First thing is that you need to find the right audience for your service. No matter how cheap it is, it needs to find the right location.

If you manage to find the right audience, you can definitely apply some growth hacking-
Say like, your primarily audience is on Facebook, you connect with them personally, or hire a VA for the same. Start a facebook group, provide value. Give freebies.

Once you manage such audience, it will be pretty easy for you to market your product. Selling is not always about paying from your pocket.

Or give it away as a free incentive instead... for a opt-in / list build

With FB advertising, you could aim for traffic as your conversion instead of sale. This usually lowers the cost. You could also try a video ad for lower costs.

It depends on if the product is a physical or digital product. The best way to sell low-priced items without incurring much cost is to use sites like Amazon, eBay and Etsy. Then, you can start an informative blog on your product to drive traffic and build a buyers list.
