Hi,

I have recently develpoed a blog over the last month and bit. In the first month it made $1200 and it looks set to earn $1500 as i am up to average $50 per day for the second month.

I read stories about how people make a quick buck by selling off websites at 10 times their monthly revenue but how long do you have to have the site up and running for before you have any stance to sell it?

Like if my website makes $1500 as forecasted could i put it up for sale at $15,000 that quick?

Thanks,
Si

If your blog making $1200 per month you will sell it quickly at flippa.com. I doubt that you will get $15,000 for it. The reason is that your site is only one month old. If you keep it for few more months and site will still make same amount per month then people will pay more than $10,000 for the site. Of course if you can prove that your site will make same money in the future, (which is hard) somebody may buy it right now.

If you want to achieve the high price you are talking about you need to let that blog settle in for at least 6-8 months, if your traffic still remains constant and the earnings are steady at $1200 then you'll be able to sell it for a reasonable amount. If your selling it now then who's to know whether or not that traffic and those earnings are going to last past the second month.

    Hope this helps

You won't get $15,000 for a 1 month old site. It doesn't have any history of making that kind of money. Keep it for 6 months and see how it performs and it will be worth a lot more. You could flip it now, but you won't get the same kind of money.

That's a good question, thank you for asking it.

And congrats on the high earnings! That's amazing for such a new site. As a bit of inspiration for a newbie, can you reveal where most of your earnings are coming from - Adsense, Affiliate Sales, etc.?

    Great work!
