Dedicated Server Question

Alright Peeps

I am in the process of setting up a membership site which offer downloads of certain products... However I am currently on a shared hosting account through Hostagator and now my disk is coming up full.. I have been advised that I need to get a dedicated server instead.... But now that is going to cost me a heck of money..

I am wondering if anyone else are using dedicated serves and at what cost, etc

What do you mean your hostgator server is full, what are you storing there.

I advise you to use a VPS from Digital Ocean + free Cloudflare CDN. It starts at $5 per month. Then get someone on Fiverr to set up Wordpress for you and the CDN.

You'll be amazed by the site speed and performance.

It's a websitz developper who did that for me and I'm thankful for it.

I have websites hosted at Webhostar, and they have dedicated servers from $40 US dollars. VPS could be a good option, as mentioned previous.

Opt for digital ocean, i have been using it for last three years:

    - $5 dollars price per month
    - 30 GB Storage
    - 1 GB RAM
    - 1 TB transfer

One of the best and affordable!

Unless you have very heavy traffic, you should be ok with shared web hosting. If disk capacity is the issue, you may also consider subscribing to external data storage like Amazon AWS or Mediafire.

If I were you I would not get a server just to host
downloads right now because you do not know if
you'll be profitable. I would setup another hosting
account for that or put the downloads in the Cloud
until I started generating enough income to cover
the added expense. It is true that it takes money
to make money, but that doesn't mean you should
    waste money.

Hostgator are not great to be honest.

You could try a VPS and have it managed. Its a lot cheaper than a dedicated server.

Cheap and reliable servers are available from hostingsource.com and integralhost.net.

Aspnix is $10/month for up to 5 sites. Unlimited storage. Plus $2/month per SSL certificate.
