How to target hyper local keywords

So I'm building a site for my leadgen company and wanted some ideas of how to structure things.

My idea is to create a national service page and then break down the service areas into major suburbs. For example carpet cleaning, Murray's Bay Auckland New Zealand.

What kind of content should I put on these pages without repeating what's on my national carpet cleaning page? What local aspects can I include that would make it unique and useful to some one visiting the landing page? Thanks.

I have done a local business for a client in the UK.

Main keyword in URL and location. so, /carpet-cleaning-new-york

Have a bit of text on their for onpage SEO, but don't over do it. This is a lead gen page so you sould have contact details at the top.

You could also embed google maps on each page. Image of the town etc

Thanks for the good ideas. Do you have a example to share perhaps? I don't mean a site you did for a client but maybe one you could recall?,

In a way here what you would be creating is a "business' we service" site, very much a "directory" - which if you ask me is just a good move all the way around.

Before we get into the SEO how... you want to ensure some things on the back end. There is more to this game than just the normal SEO aspect of this. When we are talking local you also want to create a "Citation". If specifically you are in New Zealand you want / NEED to have this sites server in New Zealand. Little ol me with clients in proximity to where I live in West Virginia would host such a site on a server IN West Virginia. In "Citations" Geographic let alone regular SEO location of the server, I believe to carry more weight.

In terms of structure... depends on where you are I would say. In the States as an example, there is going to be States with cities that have the same name so you would want a structure that looks like /state/city/business type. In New Zealand it would only be /city/business type.

If indeed you are in New Zealand you have to pay attention to the Māori names as well. A place like Hawkes bay, I know for me I would look up Peka Peka before Hawkes bay but I have a 12 year old son and Peka Peka is just a thing LOL ( Pokemon reference )

Hope that helps! Best of luck!

  • To target local keywords, you can make backlinks on local business listing sites, local classified sites. Post an informative blog for your local customers. Use social media platforms to attract a local audience to your business.

  • I like your idea.

Many talks about "action" when it comes to seo and digital marketing. The "action" means that you publish something that give value to the reader. Create unique value first and after this start your linkbuilding .

You can use Semrush or Google keyword planner for keyword investigate. I know that article writing with AI generator´s is something some seo pro´s use as well.

Finding the right keywords for a limited area can be a challenge. There are a few things that can help you get started.
One possibility is to use Google Autocomplete. To do this, open Google Chrome and enter a search query in the search bar. When you do this, you will be presented with similar search terms that you enter. looking for others.
The following activity is useful for targeting hyperlocal keywords.
    1. Business Listings
    2. Content Marketing
    3. Search Advertising
    4. SMS Marketing
    5. Email Marketing
    6. Location-based advertising
