Hi Everyone,

I'm starting to do marketing for a Saas product that is built for eCommerce marketers.
The product will help people that eCommerce marketers create better campaigns and sell more.

I'm looking for good places to advertise this product. Places where I can find the most targeted audiences of eCommerce marketers and eCommerce entrepreneurs.

I thought about the following:

Facebook ads (obviously)
Google ads (obviously)
Reddit - relevant sub-reddits
Warrior Forum
etc.

I'm looking for more out-of-the-box ideas.

Anyone?

Thanks

Use email campaigns. Look for people belonging to different personas and working in various niche. Also, you can also opt for SaaS software directories listing to display your product/service to showcase across the relevant audience. One other way that you can use is do a bit of homework on your closest competitors and see where they are promoting their business.

Regarding your first point - How can I find emails of relevant people?

Target a niche of ecommerce store owners and look for the person's name on the site. Otherwise send it to a generic contact email address on the website.

You can scrape names email addresses of ecom stores using Icyleads or D7 lead finder.

Why dont you also list your SaaS in the Shopify app store?

Wow a blast from the past from an oldie. Good to see you, Jeff. I remember you had some great posts in the past. Really enjoyed them

I think you hit it on the nail as I agree. If he was indeed hired I think quite honestly it's similar to the 'Fake it til you Make it' mentality we often see here at WF.

I would find the decision makers on Linkedin and contact them there, and generally use Linkedin to make connections. I would, then, find their email addresses and do what Mathew North said.

Facebook Groups are another good place to check out. Try to see if there are any groups related to your product.

You say it's for e-commerce and there are lots of groups on Facebook related to this topic. You can also start putting out content on Youtube related to e-commerce and showing how your product works.

People like to see how something works. It helps them to visualize having the product themselves.

You can also do this on LinkedIn. Find people who own e-commerce brands and connect with them. When the time is right you'll be able to show them your product.

Think about where your target market are most likely to be and go there. Traffic secrets by Russell Brunson has a lot of sources for traffic in it. Note I'm not affiliated with the book in any way just read it and thought it shared some good ideas about traffic generation.

    Hope this helps.

You should really consider YouTube advertising. Prerolls ads have significantly higher conversion rates than Facebook ads these days especially in this space if the visual asset is strong and tells the right story.

  • Influencer Marketing. Instagram is full of successful e-commerce marketers. Finding the right ones to promote your product will help with an easy conversion.

Instagram Story ads convert well - especially if you're trying to sell something for eCommerce Marketers. TikTok can be a great place to market as well.

I didn't see Microsoft Ads, it's not that widely used and that's one of the reasons it's still cheap.

Partner with Creators. People with highly engaged followers on Social Media.

Not the Kim Kardashians..but the people that are growing (with 3k to 4k plus followers) and fairly new but with plenty of engagement.

You should try Quora contextual ads, people come there mainly to find answers for their problems ( and above it quora gets above 300 million monthly users )

From there onwards you can start collecting emails and run campaigns for conversion.

For the most part, marketing is about being easy to find. So the idea that there are "out of the box" ideas?

Is kinda the antithesis of marketing. Sure, there are some examples every now and again. But for the most part, you want your offer highly visible to the right people.

So go with the obvious choices first.

  • There are fundamentally 2 options Paid and Non Paid, with paid media options you get the traffic right away but then it will stop as soon as your ad money runs out. Do you know your target CPA, CPL and LTV? Otherwise you will overpaid for a conversion.

Non Paid traffic options are more long term and requires a lot of time and resources investment like SEO, article writting, link building ...

Really, Facebook and Google Ads is the powerful platform for marketing, but I would like to suggest you that E-mail marketing, LinkedIn, as well as YouTube marketing will also help you for better marketing.

There are several eCom stars with income proof on YouTube with huge followings that would endorse you and most are pretty young and flexible.
