Pinging Your Blog

I believe that pinging and ping services can enhance your traffic by notifying the world of new content. I use Wordpress update service, Ping o Matic and Pingoat. However, I am wondering if anyone else has experience with these services and if they feel they are working for them.

    Well as it happens instantly without your intervention on saving a blog post, I cant say it really matters in terms of time, and it certainly cannot hurt to do it. so its a win-win in terms of time and not having a downside I would say.

    There are published all over this forum additional gigantic ping lists as well which you can add to your WP pinger - the only downside occurs if you start doing forced pings or pinging for every single change of a post or page (such as a spelling correction) - you don't want to do that as you can get flagged as a ping spammer.

    putting pings on your blog can make a great difference.

    Great info here.

    One question, when you ping, to you use the general URL (for example www.mysite.com), or do you ping the URL of where you posted your new post on the blog (www.mysite.com/new-article)?
