I mean, sure. If you're looking at the top creators on YT, they're earning a lot.

It can be really good but does take time to build up to good money.

Trying to do YouTube the way most people do it is unreliable and most people fail.

But there are courses from people who've found ways to almost guarantee great results with YouTube, by understanding how the system works and doing everything right.

So, as with most things, a few people make millions, some people do OK, and the majority get little or nothing.

If you mean what Youtube pays you...It's not a good stream of income, you need millions of views to make a living. If you mean using Youtube as a source of quality traffic and monetize your channel through affiliation, products, services etcetera, yeah then is an awesome tool

A bit simplistic don't you think? Youtube is still the king of long content and insanely profitable if you know what you're doing

Several of the channels I have watched for years, who have built their audiences up, figured out their style, have a good following, have recently been complaining about their videos being demonitized. They are asking their viewers to support them through Patreon instead.

The ones I'm thinking of are video game reviewers and medieval/swordfighting channels. So it's not like their topics are problematic.

I personally didn't go the monetization route, neither for my channels nor my show/podcast.

Well if you have a lot of views then its worth it ,but this its not easy as you need to know your game ,work hard anf have a lot of patience
I think its a better idea to go with affiliate marketing route instead

It does make good money depending on what content you are creating. look into something more modern as a lot of people are already doing the usual

Hi bro! How are you? I run my YouTube channel - and I can tell you that yes. I don't have very many subscribers, but I have different monetization. For example, I make content that I like and use the length of the youtube playlist, list different ads, sponsored products and so on.

YouTube monetization is an encouraging one. The description part below the video gives ample opportunity for earning affiliate income even though you don't have that many subscribers and the required number of hours.

Overall, YouTube is worth it. You just have to find the right monetization strategy for yourself. Some people, like my buddy Adam, use YouTube to sell info products while also monetizing through ads. Ads don't make him as much money, but when you add up everything together the revenue number is nice.

It could be with the right niche.

My niche is outdoor recreation. Because of expensive commercial-use permits, I don't monetize most of my videos.

I can monetize videos filmed in National Parks because I do low-impact filming based on new rules. But most of my videos are centered around my local National Forest which is an entirely different public land management agency with different rules.

I'm going to attempt to do more gear review videos on my own land in my woods. I'll be able to monetize those.

At my level (which isn't that big), I could probably make a few hundred a month which is better than nothing.

But again, it depends on the niche and how popular YOU can be within in. I dominate my niche but there really isn't any local competition.

It's a great side business to have if you regularly use Youtube/video marketing as part of your promotion strategy. If you already make Youtube videos to promote your products, you can opt-in to monetize your Youtube videos (if you reach the eligibility requirements) and earn money 2 ways.
