I have a small eCommerce site, I know it's not a lot of traffic I just wanted to share anyway
Good organic traffic increase after switching to a different theme and SEO plugin, seems like on-page does a lot afterall

Nice! Can you share a bit more on this? Is it because it increased your page speed?

I'm not sure exactly what did it, I used an old theme and Yoast.
I've switched to Superb eCommerce theme and Rankmath SEO plugin.

I honestly have no idea what did the trick, might be page speed, better markup, schema or whatever
I sadly don't have any unique guide on how to do it, I think it's just a general improvement of the code and a better SEO plugin that did it (Not that I can guarantee that Rankmath is better than Yoast, I'm no tech expert)

But it's awesome to see that these things actually matters, and not only content and backlinks

I don't feel so? I know some change the layout of the site, like how many contents etc to put on home page so visitors can click go deeper around your site.

Don't forget Google updates now a days quite frequently perhaps your site happen in Google flavours current so traffic slowly increase.

I'm curious to see if you implemented the suggestions which RankMath put forward, and saw the increase in traffic, or was it simply just changing from Yoast to RankMath without implementing their suggested improvements?

I knew you were going to say you switched to Rankmath. I did the same. AIOSEO to Rankmath switch last month. Traffic exploded.
        Rank math is the shit!

For theme, I always use Astra with Elementor.

On-page does a good job , but if you will do a bit off-page as well it will do wonders.

Faster themes play a very important role when it comes to SEO. Luckily you found the perfect combination. All the best.

Many times themes, especially the free ones, have an overload of plugins many of which are not needed and/or no longer supported and have not been updated in a while. So, when you install a plugin you do need it could cause conflict with the pre-installed plugins. Always check plugins to make sure they are being updated on a regular basis.

also, no matter what theme you use go to youtube and watch some setup videos, making sure they are recent, for the most part these videos will show what plugins are compatible and if the theme has pre-installed plugins they will show which ones are really not needed or should be replaced.

Personally I stick with complete solutions such as Thrive Themes, or Elementor.

  • The theme is very important, I've also seen excellent results with the right theme.
