I want to develop a Saas software, state your opinion.

I want to develop a Saas software to provide a rapidly deployable customer service system for web pages. Capable of hosting pre-sales information, after-sales service and membership system.
Any site can be used quickly as I noticed that Shopify's site is not very user friendly for support.
Is this a good idea?

In my opinion wants to do the same as the chatbot do but your idea of work is little different in term of goals.

You need to research more on this idea before doing this it will help you a lot because most of the companies who automating customer service now mostly using the AI based chatbot.

Hey Paul, welcome to the forum.

I'll jump in here, because I get asked a variation on this theme just about every day. The "short" answer is, it depends.

In my experience there are two types of apps:

    1. Where you've legitimately discovered a gap in a profitable market
    2. The market already exists, but you think you can do it better, or cater to a specific crowd

These days, (1) is a rare commodity. Every man, woman, dog, & hamster is and has been searching for that killer app that'll buy them a house for the last 20 years, and to be honest, within reason, you need to either be pretty sophisticated in a particular industry, or lucky, to have a shot.

As an example there's still lots of money to be made building connectors from one service to another (ie: Shopify store to ERP) - but you need to know a fair bit about both and have connections in the industry to make it work.

That brings us to (2) - and the best way to figure out if this has legs is to lock yourself in a room for a day and Google the crap out of your idea. Do your best to see what's out there that'll solve the problem you're suggesting (ie. support / pre-sales widget).

If, after a day of searching you see that a) there's a market ie. this is a problem others also need solved and are prepared to pay money for, and b) no-one seems to be solving your specific issue, then maybe there's something there. In that case, there are various options such as building a super cheap prototype and shopping it around, to doing dummy / pre-sales advertising and seeing if someone bites.

Either way, that first day of Googling the bujeezus out of your idea comes first.

Mate I hope that helps, best of luck with it.

    John

You only get one shot at life - make it awesome.

Everyone else also gets just one crack at it - help make theirs awesome too... or, politely step out of their way.

From an idea standpoint, it doesn't sound extraordinary - but I'm sure if you go deep in solving this problem there's definitely a need for this.

  • In terms of product development and design, I can see 2 major challenges:

    1) It needs to be intuitive for developers and Web business owners; and
    2) It also needs to be intuitive for their end viewers, first-time and repat customers ...

And any one of those challenges are REALLY, REALLY challenging to do right ...

Now we aren't even talking about promotional strategies.

It is an excellent idea because software development is developing rapidly, and Saas software will always be helpful for all experienced business people and beginners.
