Shut Up, Listen & Just Do It - The "Yeah But" Syndrome.

Like many Warriors, I have helped a number of people the past 8 years. Usually the people fell into three groups:

1. Those that listen and take action.
2. Those that seem to listen but do not take action.
3. Those that listen but think they know it all so they give you excuses and the "Yeah But" attitude.

Since I joined the Warrior Forum I have had a number of PM's from total strangers asking for help with something. In most cases I did whatever I could to help out.

That having been said...

Attention Newbie Warriors:

If you are going to PM or email someone and ask for their help you have to realize you (a total stranger) are asking them to take time from their business to help you with yours.

If you are fortunate enough to get a response and instructions/answers to your questions, you owe it to them to listen, take action and not give them the "Yeah Buts".

I am not saying that you should blindly take advice without asking yourself if something makes sense for you.

I AM saying that you shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth. Don't PM me asking 10 different questions and then give me the Yeah Buts...

I realize that you can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink. However you sure as hell can shoot that sucker.

In closing... Shut Up, Listen & Just Do It!

End of rant.

Hey Mike, I have personally never PMed you but I can appreciate what you are saying...
a grateful attitude goes along way....

Thanks for all you do for us here in the forum and where ever you help. I have been struggling for several years to earn online and just beginning to earn a little on a consistent basis. but its growing everyday. maybe not as fast as I would like but it is.

I cant take credit for it but its what I have learned along the way from people like you that help others.
    many blessings

  • That has got to be one of my biggest peeves,
somebody that asks for my opinion, then wants to
    second guess me.

I'm not saying I know everything by any means -
or even anything for that matter, but it's a downer
when you try to help somebody and they want to tell
    you how it should go.

My neighbor called me a few weeks ago and wanted
me to see if I could fix her computer that was running
    slow.

While I was trying to scan for adware and viruses, she
was steady telling me what I needed to be checking.

I finally gave up and came home. I just told her I couldn't
find anything wrong with it, that she needed to take it
    to the shop.

      Hi Michael,

Ha! That happened to me awhile back except it was because of the dreaded blue screen of death.

They too seemed to think they were an expert at computers but the more they talked and looked over my shoulder the more ignorant they sounded. Needless to say I left the blue screen of death for them to fix.
