Looking for free cloud service, where I can upload a PDF, with password protection

Hello Warrior Forum!

I'm trying to make a pdf document accessible to visitors on my site, but with password protection. Any idea of a free service to use? I thought Google Drive, but think it will look cheap, and it skews the PDF pretty badly when you open the file all the way with Google drive.

Open to any suggestions.

Thanks!

I believe that you can put the password protection on
the PDF document itself, depending on your software.

I don't know about free hosting, at some point you are
going to have to start paying for things.

  • 100% free its a mission impossible, try to find the best and most cheap one (you have to pay for the space you use) I think Box is a good cloud storage service that allows you to set passwords for shared links

I've become hesitant to post on the threads where the Original Poster is a one and gone person...it feels as if we waste our time, but in the hope of other Warriors benefitting, here are some questions.

INTENT. First, why do people visit the site, how do they find it? And if you are getting targeted traffic to the site, why the need for protection of a pdf? It reads as if you want to give this to the visitor, not sell it, and if so, is it proprietary?

Why free service? There are cheap ways to pay for a pdf protected document...or as has been suggested, something like Dropbox with only this link, which can be changed frequently. I just did this with a thing, and simply changed the name, added an a or 7 onto the name of the file. Or you could, as also has been suggested, use an email to send the pdf.

This is one of those not enough information, and of course, maybe the OP doesn't want us to know what he/she is doing...fair enough. But this feels like a one time drive by post, so no worries.

There is pdfencrypt and smallpdf and pdf2go all found with a 5 second Bing search.

I am not 100% sure, if there is any actual free cloud based servers, but the one i have used is dropbox it is 30 day free trial and then you pay for it, i think it is microsoft based so it comes with a great repuation, and like the amount of storage u get with it, then there is google docs i know that is free, if u are just wanting a one off file that goggle docs, but if its going to be ongoing, then maybe consider drop box, i hope this helps you in your search

Thank you guys, all good ideas. Will probably just upload the file to the site and password protect it right on the pdf itself. Thanks again for all the ideas.
