Sage Words of Wisdom from eMarketing Gurus

Hi I'm hoping to get some solid advice.

I've been operating in an entertainment niche for about 20 years. During that time I've built up a pretty good mailing list (50k + 100 to 200 new subs every day), and my site gets approx. a million unique hits per month. It would be more if I put some effort into blogging again.

The products I've been selling up until now, they've become a bit passe. So sales have dwindled slowly over the years. Interest in the niche remains strong though, or it's not zero at least. I had considered ditching it all and going and doing something else instead. But I've put an amount of time effort and money into that traffic. I was reading a post here about Clickbank, and about how you should be thinking in terms of list building, and cross-selling them on other products and services.

If you got stuck on a desert island with nothing but that list, and that traffic (yes work with me here!) - what would you do? Could you do something with that? Like, what would be your simplified strategy? Any wise words would be greatly appreciated thanks.

What are you selling them now?

I would sell digital downloads like eBooks and special reports.

    Paid memberships, courses.

    Print on demand merch.

And if I got tired of it, I would sell it.

Simplified strategy: Use ChatGPT and other A.I. as much
as possible to include brainstorming about various topics.

    Not Clickbank.

You have an enourmous asset that marketers will covet...your list of buyers and subscribers.

You didn't say what you sold, or what you blogged about.

But I would absolutely find bigger marketers that are in the same niche as you are (whatever that is)...or at least they sell to the exact same people you do.
Audience crossover is what you are looking for.

You contact these people and offer to send their lead generation offer, a tripwire, to your list, if they will send your lead generation offer to their list. There is no money changing ands, and no affiliate commissions paid.

Of course they will check you out to make sure you're real. And you check them out if they show interest.

This cross pollination is how you rapidly grow your list with new blood, and new offers. And the new people you gain from this will also buy your offers.

If you want to know how the big name gurus sell to each other's lists to grow their list and promote each other....this is it.

If you really just want to sell new offers to your list, and not grow your list, you can just find offers from others in your niche.

Hi Claude many thanks for your great answer. There are a lot of great ideas in there. Offers seems to be a recurring theme so I guess I need to come up with ideas for offers (and check out others in my industry I can get ideas from). Many thanks for your help

OP, you'll make a killing running NATIVE AD display networks

There's a natural fit between your audience and native ad advertisers

Perhaps you should sell them different products if they've gotten tired of what you got now. I mean, you got to read the writing on the wall and surely your list will like something. Anyway, what do you feel are blocks to finding new things? Is it like writer's block?

You got some great replies already but I'm curious how much better they might be with some info on the niche you serve or the products. I assume you aren't saying for a reason but maybe a hint?
