Yahoo Answers

I am in the UK.

Is there anyway of making sure when I go to Yahoo Answers I get to the worldwide version rather than UK and Ireland?

It seems the questions come from all over the world however, my answers show up in Google under UK.answers etc rather than just Yahoo and of course I don't rank as high with those answers.

I want to answer under the world site!!

Any ideas how to do it or does it just pick up on my location adn i'm stuck with it?

I am going through the yahoo url .com not .co.uk by the way!:rolleyes:

    Yeah annoying Ken isn't it. If people search my keyword for uk pages i'm 4th on page 1 but worldwide and i'm back on page 4 or something!!!

    If Yahoo is targeting your IP address and you are in the UK then the only way around it is to log into Yahoo through a proxy server that is located in the country you want results. There are some free online proxies just for surfing, but they are usually painfully slow.

    So the real question becomes what is Yahoo looking at on my machine to determine what results to serve me?

    I post on the USA one, even though I am in Canada and I get traffic from all over the world on Yahoo Answers

      There is no need to use a proxy.

      I answer questions from the UK which on answers.yahoo.com which rank for worldwide.... the same questions are visible on UK, NZ, or whereever but I rank for them in the US which is the target audience of the sites in question.

      However, bear in mind if you are searching on them through google, you will be presented with the UK version primarily, unless you are doing a US/worldwide search in google.
