Is Anyone Still Buying PLR eBooks?

I haven't been active on this forum in a really, really long time.

A little while back I wrote a short ebook (about 10k words) to use as a lead gen for small businesses with the hopes of selling them basic internet marketing services.

It's called Triple Your Business: 5 Strategies To Rapidly Grow Your Business

I spent a lot of time writing it but, for various reasons, never got around to really promoting it.

I would ultimately like to sell PLR to it if at all possible but I really don't know if this is a thing anymore given all of the AI tools currently available

I would appreciate any and all advice on what, if anything, I should do

Thanks as always!

You may have answered your own question. You have a 25-30 pg book (written how long ago?) which might work to promote your own blog or business.

But - why would I buy 'private label rights' to sell an 'ebook' that others would also be selling...when I can easily and quickly create my own ebook using A.I.?

You could be successful selling PLR products if you have a list
of active buyers, a website, selling on Etsy and elsewhere, and
    you have several products.

One book. It's not going to happen. If you want financial success
selling PLR, you need to develop more products.

But as Kay King has stated, people probably won't be too keen
on your PLR since custom content can be developed in a few
    minutes these days.

My advice is to get busy developing products, like a couple of
hundred different things. I know this sounds daunting, but if
you develop one or two products every week for the next year
or two, you will have something to work with besides one book.

  • thanks for the reply.

I totally get what you're saying (I've been on here for 20 years after all....though in active for many years)

I was merely curious if I could sell PLR to this ebook and be done with it. I created it nearly 2 years ago and never promoted it because because I got distracted with 10 other things

I assumed there was very little market for this.

    Appreciated though!

    Any update Zach?

AI generated content has an art and science to it, most people don't know how to generate good quality content beyond some of the basic prompts

So if the content is good, there should still be a pretty big market for them

they are eBooks that comes with a right for you to be able to claim it as your own and resell them to your customers

Let me know if you need more clarifications

    • Private Label Rights

They used to be very popular. Basically, you create some written content or some videos and then sell the ownership rights to someone else who can then use them however they like

I don't think ebooks, from a cold message, would be that effective. People are looking for quality content (which I'm sure your content is) but without building up trust with your audience, it's unlikely they will buy a book from you from a cold message. What you could do is use your book, break it down into smaller pieces of content and turn them into videos, social media posts etc and take the time to build trust with your audience. Once you have a great reputation online, you can sell high ticket items. Best of luck

You can sell PLR products if the content interests a group of people looking for that kind of information. You can also find PLR buyers who customize the content a little and resell or republish it to their list. I have a membership website that provides eBooks in different niches with editable content, customizable eBook covers, landing pages, email follow-up messages, etc. I suggest you do the same. Just an eBook is not enough anymore, as people have started using ChatGPT.
    Hope this helps,

PLR is a great business model. It's all over Instagram now with Stan Store. Bottom line, yes you can make big bucks with a PLR business.

I run a PLR Membership and have done it for a while, BUT we offer 15 different things in each pack. An Ebook is just one.

AI might have made PLR a bit harder BUT it can also help make good PLR better.

Since we've gotten access to AI, it has definitely made the PLR industry a little less appealing... however, there is still a market for organic PLR, meaning human-written PLR content.

Not everyone is using AI content. For one, bare-bones AI content lacks emotion and connection to the audience. It's almost like a monotone keynote speaker; the content hits, but the presentation is bland. Or worse, the content doesn't hit because the keynote speaker wrote it in a "monotone style" (does that even make sense?).

At the minimum, I'd say most AI-generated content could benefit from edits in voice, style, emotion, connection, and many other factors that allow us humans to enjoy digesting the content.

Since in some PLR use cases, it requires "rewriting, rebranding and repurposing" the content, it's almost the same as using AI to create the content. One major difference is that you may (or may not) have paid for it using AI.

For those reasons, I believe that human-written PLR content will always have a place until AI can effectively tap into the factors I wrote above. There's just something about a human-written piece of content that "feels like a warm hug" that AI cannot do naturally... yet.

Those robots are learning fast though... so maybe it's only a matter of time. I say go for it... but make sure your content is good!

Hope this helps (and I am not a PLR seller... yet, just a serial PLR buyer, AI and human).

p.s. People still buy PLR eBooks... way more than you'd think. If you check Muncheye, any given month averages out to about a PLR launch a day. PLR is still very alive and kicking... and might be the dominant "type of product" selling on W+. The market is still open despite AI coming in and challenging it and despite people using AI to create content to sell as PLR. Crazy, right?
