Where Do Old Emails Go to Die?

Hi Warriors!

I sometimes create some good (at least I think so) emails for my ist. I go into aweber and blast out an email.

Then...it's over.

People opting into my list later don't see it. No one going to my sites, blogs, or reading my eBooks sees it.

Isn't there a recycling technique for it? I didn't know if it'd be wise to go back and pull some of those (and after what amount of time?) and post them to my blog or something.

What say you, Warriors?

    Tiffany, I assume you're talking about emails with good content instead of promos. Why not compile a few into PDF's, and if you have enough of them, you can sort and compile them according to subject matter. Then post them on your site or blog for free download.

    In large companies, one common tactic is to create a "past newsletters" category. Then post those email there along with a signup form telling your visitors this is the content you routinely send out and they can receive it right in their inbox...fresh.

    Check out the Mayoclinic. They've done this well. And they're using that classic "upper right corner" signup box.

    I have taken old emails and forum posts of mine, edited them a little, and made them into articles or blog posts. If the content is good enough you might as well use it for something more than just a one time mailing.

    If it's not time sensitive, why not add it to the
    end of the autoresponder series?
    Then everyone would get it.

      But if I add it, won't the people on my list get it twice? I may be missing a technical tip here. lol

        Tiff,
        Most autoresponders allow you to broadcast to active, finished, or all
        subscribers.
        Broadcast to the finished ones and add the message to the series,
        then the active ones will get it later so will any new subscribers.

    We post our emails to our blog as well. It works to keep fresh content going to the blog AND it keeps an opportunity out there to earn future sales from "recycled" emails.

    There is not a sweeter feeling than to get a commission payment for something you have not even thought about in over a year.
