is this a good idea?

Ok guys. I thought up an idea that I want to try and pull off and was curious if you guys can see any flaws in it or if its just plain stupid.

My idea is to find about 4 or 5 sites in the same niche that offer affiliate programs and sign up with them. Then I am going to build a single page and but banners and whatnot that the affiliate program provides on that page. Once I have a page together, I was going to use adwords to promote it, and this way people will come to the page and click off on my affiliate link and hopefully i'll make a deal.

What do you think?

    It depends on what results you can achieve using adwords.

    Before you build the page try to check what's the cost for a click in that niche and if it's worth doing it.

      I haven't done adwords in a long while, but don't they make you pay quite a lot per click if you don't have a landing page with useful info and links to more useful info, that sort of thing? (which might make it difficult to turn a profit in many niches). Also, there might be quite a lot of competition doing this, also pushing your costs over the top?

      I'm doing what you intend in a couple of niches, but I drive free traffic, which makes it worthwhile, but a longer term process. Also, I don't just stick up the banners, but rather put in some effort in writing comparable reviews of the products, which adds value for your visitors.

    It could work but I suggest you do some serious tracking of your results. The problem as I see it is that most banners are terrible at converting which means that you'll have to send tons of traffic from Adwords to your site in order to make an affiliate sale. But the most accurate way to see whether it works or not is to try it. Don't spend money you're not ready to loose though...

    Alot of IM marketers use Adwords for CPA links etc.. but you have make sure your landing pages are really good and your sales pitch / information is strong, otherwise youll be burning cash!

    A lot of people mention that a key to success is being into what you are trying to sell and being passionate about it. Is it an omen for me when I try to think about something that i would want to sell and don't get excited about anything?

    Sometimes I just feel like I wont be able to get anything going because I have to write about stuff, and anything I want to write about, doesn't seem like you can sell anything for it.

    Well i suggest you to go for one thing at a time and STAY FOCUS.using adwards is a good idea but do it with professionallism. yea you might not make a deal but good deals all the while just keep doin wht comes in your mind.

    instead of adding banners, make a review for each one..

    I'm doing the same on one of my websites and it brings in around $700 to $1200 each month for $29 on adwords..

    it's not a huge amount of money, but it's on autopilot so it's cool plus you can do it again with other niches..

    don't forget to capture emails and send relevant content..

    If you are just going to stick up a bunch of different banners on a page, that won't work. Why join 4-5 different affiliate programs in the same niche? You are going to have competing banner ads on the same page?

    As for adwords, that can be very expensive. It depends on the keywords you choose. As for making affiliate sales, you will have to make people want to buy with good copy and/or content.

    So if you choose a good affiliate program, choose keywords wisely, and have a good website with good content, it could work. It just takes more work than just slapping up some banners.
