How do I embed a WMV file on a basic html page?

While some browsers may be able to stream .WMV, this feature
is not nearly so ubiquitous as Flash - which is present in something
like 98% of browsers these days. The only other format that comes
close I think is Quiktime, but it's trailing Flash by quite a big margin.

So, if you want visitors to watch a streaming video, render it
to .FLV and stream it on a flash player. WMV is a useful format
in many ways, but not, in my experience, for streaming.

Sorry...I'm new at this embedding video thing...I watch videos in flash that stream but what actual player would do that (hopefully free/cheap)

I'm sure I can convert it from WMV (it's a Gotowebinar recording) to FLV.

Just need a player that will make it work properly.

Yea...I've done the Youtube route in the past.

The reason it doesn't work now is the webinar is around 1 hour and 40 minutes and is waayyy over the time limit.

LOL I create short video trainings solely for this reason.

I mean I can put the hosting on my S3 account lol I just don't know how to make it actually play and not a raw download.

Just never done it before.

First thing you need to do is quit using a regular HTML page and get a blog up. Then upload the podpress plugin and it makes it a simple task. Next I would suggest to convert that bad boy to mp3.

Much more user and web friendly.

Here's a free one - MPW Player | Get MPW Player at SourceForge.net

I haven't tested it. You may have to learn some new webmastering
stuff to pull this off. I have no way of knowing where your skills
are at. It's mostly file management and HTML. Simple when yiu
get the hang of it.

Best and easiest way i have found is this one:

JW Player: Silverlight Player | LongTail Video | Home of the JW Player

And then use the setup wizard to customize...it's a doddle:
