I Just Don't Get It... Newbie Needs Desperate Help!

It's been weeks and I'm doing everything of what those marketers of "make tons of money in 2 weeks easily" or "how to make $100 dollars a day" or "make money by doing barely anything and get the benefits while you sleep by trying my methods!" ebooks say to do.

So many of those ebooks say you can make $1000-$2000 a month by doing this but I don't see it... which is what I trying to do:

1) Go into an Ultra Competitive Niche where there is "high demand" and pick a product ( I chose sex and getting your ex back because everybody needs sex and and people that get dumped want to get their ex's back -also since I have had experience in both) Okay so...
2) Write an article on topic okay...
3) Send it article directories like EZA (I also notice that every single article above and below me is solving the same exact problem too... (but I guess this is okay...?)
4) Direct them to your website - from here direct them to top merchant website from affiliate directories like Click2Sell and CB and...
5) Watch conversation rates sale out of the roof while money grow in you're bank account!...

But so many times and days I see a big zero in my bank account though. Can you offer me some help? : (

Thank you!

You've got a lot to learn, especially about how much others are making as opposed to claims they make, not everyone of course. It takes time to weed out the frauds. Keep plugging away and try something less competitive

There are a lot variables in references to traffic and conversions and there is not enough information in your post to be able to pin point where there may be a problem:

How did you perform your keyword research?
What tools did you use? Did you only go for the highest converting keywords?
      Any long tail keywords?
Do you have google analytics installed to find out if/where traffic is coming from?
How many articles did you post? To how many directories? How many times?
Did you create or respond to blogs? Did they have the nofollow attribute?

As you can see, there are a lot of variables and each of the above either on its own or combined could cause a spike in traffic...

    Hi buddy
First of all hang in there. It's only been a couple of weeks.

How many articles have you written? Just the one? It takes Ezine about a week to aprove that article anyway.

Did you digg your article ? Stumble it?

Are you building backlinks to your site?

You should also have the link to your site in the sig line of your warrior psts. Thats a good backlink.

Oh btw check out my affiliate program it's right up your niche. I catch people cheating online. Maybe that will make you some money

Your following a proven strategy, but one that can take time. Take a look at your processes and see where the holes are.

How long has it been? What kind of searches are your keywords getting? How much competition? How many articles are you writing, and how many views are they getting? What percentage go to your site, and what percentage of that go to the sales page?

Trust me, I know how frustrating it can get. But if you are able to isolate and correct small problems, your end result can see major changes.

    Regards,

Hi Cloudchaser22 - Although the basic idea is correct there are a few tweaks to your list of things to do.

have you been through Travis Sago's BUM marketing course (free online - just Google BUM Marketing and look for Travis' name)?

The articles you're writing must be targeted at specific keywords that are competitive but not ultracompetitive. There's a fine line you walk between being in a market where there is no one and where the world shops.

If you're selling sex then you're competing with some of the top internet marketers in the world. They have the corner on getting people to their site and pulling out their wallets. Not a market I want to be in but have to admit they know lots about black hat techniques.

If you're looking at a market about getting back with your ex you should get on Travis' email list cause that's exactly an ebook he's written and using his list to promote while teaching them article marketing - brilliant really.

He's teaching about keyword lists, giving out keyword lists and building a great business cause he's recruited lots of hardworking affiliates.

I think maybe the stumbling block has been being in the highly competitive niche - try a subniche of that niche and maybe targeting keywords for the articles that weed out the tire kickers and hit the buyers.

And, of course, article marketing isn't an overnight wonder. It takes submissions each day and patience. But it's free and I can't think of another way to make money without investing money, equipment or resources. Of course our time is a valuable commodity too.

I couldn't have summed it up better myself.

The keys to this method are:

      1. Keyword Research And Implementation.

      2. Dedications and consistency, multiple article submissions each day.

      3. Patience, lots of patience.

Gail, there is another wonderful method of free traffic generation, SEO. Which basically comes down to building content and backlinking to it (in simple terms).

Both article marketing and SEO are intrinsically related, in fact, the keys to SEO are pretty much the same I stated above for article marketing.

That's what makes them both my two favourite methods of traffic, free and targeted.

hi daniel! you mention SEO and free traffic generation...

i used "host gator" for both my websites, just outta curiosity...

i like to write and that's why creative writing is what I studied in college... but I'm definitely not a computer, techie guy!

if I put keep putting correct content into my websites and add the correct "keywords" every day (just typing and writing and putting stuff into my xsitepro2, is this enough to get me ranked on google within a month?? (w/o any knowledge of "internet techie stuff like google spiders?") also, how long will it take to rank #1 on Google for my niche on sex and how to get your ex bf/gf back?

        thank you for that advice!

You'll never get to #1 for those terms doing what you are doing. It's extremely competitive to say the least... You have to look at your strategy and approach it from a different angle. The type of information products you are buying are simply guides to get you started in the right direction. You have to use a bit of your own marketing savvy as well.

          Hi

No 1 on Google for sex is gonna be virtually impossible IMHO! I haven't looked at the number of competing sites but it has to be one of biggest!

I, as someone who's been at this for a year, would suggest to you that you take some time to learn this business. It's been suggested that you sign up for Travis bummarketingmethod course, I completly agree with that one.

Read the forum, there's superb content right here.

Learn how to do proper keyword research, again superb content and people right here who will explain and answer sensible questions all night long.

Learn how to pick a niche that will work for you once you work for it.

Find out which Warriors know what they're talking about and keep up to date with their teachings and techniques.

I could go on! Suffice to say there's stuff to learn and that takes time and commitment. But do continue with the articles, they're money in the bank.

          Good luck

It's really a lot more simple than you would think, although it does take time and effort,

It's not about ranking #1 for your niche, it's about ranking #1 for high daily search results long tail keyword phrases WITHIN your niche or related to your niche, if you rank #1 in those you've got yourself some nice traffic.

How do you do this? Well, it's pretty simple, you add pages of content to a site, 100 SEPARATE pages makes a pretty good site for example, then you backlink to EVERY SINGLE ONE of those pages from everywhere you can (Squidoos, Hubpages, Articles, Blogs, Forums, Social Bookmarking etc etc).

No one said it was going to be fast, but it is very simple, it just takes a lot of work and time and patience.

Now, the above was SEO and it's for getting A LOT of organic search engine traffic. If you just want a small quantity of constat targeted traffic, stick to keyword optimized article submission.

If your getting very few views on your articles, then the problem maybe with

Oh cool people r replying. Alright well first of all it's been 3 months since I started IM. that's a start

other information is using the above method so far i've submitted like... 34 articles and gotten a little more than seven thousand views (i found out that most people like reading more about sex tips than how to get your ex boyfriend of girlfriend back but I at least have only a few sales out of 3 months for the 2nd niche and havent made anything on the first niche - i guess people just like reading about that...) so this is how i broke it down into detail on average

sexual advice niche - i think on average i can get like 500 views, 50 url clicks, but only 10 will go through to merchants site

and on how get back back bf/gf - i get an average of 20-30 views, 5 url clicks, but only some will go through (yet i have made more sales on this than the first!!) weird

hope this can better the information

In the ultimate analysis, everything boils down to "How many hungry/desperate buyers you can attract towards your offer?". Since you are trying your hand in an extremely competitive niche (where thousands of competitors are already eying for these buyers), you need to diversify your efforts. Just submitting articles on ezinearticles or other article directories is not enough. It is just a part of a big link building strategy.

You must focus on your website and improve its overall quality by adding useful content on it. Increase its link depth by creating various web 2.0 tools (such as Squidoo, hubpage, zimbio, digg submission etc). Get involve in community forums of your niche, answer niche specific question on yahoo answers, write as a guest blogger for some established blogs in your niche.

Further, if not done already, try to build your website SEO friendly by using various SEO parameters (proper Title tag, right keyword usage etc).

Finally, write a free report on your chosen topic and offer it free on your squeeze page. Build a list this way and follow up with nice message thereafter.

I know what I suggested above is not easy. It will requires time, energy and persistent effort. However, this will hugely increase your chance to grab a piece of the big pie (the competitive niche). Merely depending on writing article for directories is a limited strategy that needs to be supplemented by other efforts.

Shekhar, thanks for your advice! one question though... when you say web2 tools, do you mean go on squidoo and and write a topic on sexual tips and like EZA people will start heading over your site? What I noticed on squidoo is theres no "Center Page" that you can click on like EZA view stuff... relationships, internet marketing, business, etc. so i'm afraid I might not get as many views on those site compared to Article Directorys....

You need to get Google Analytics up on your site to see were the traffic is coming from. That's your first priority...

Then keep at it and adjust according to what your analytics is telling you. A couple of weeks is nothing, you have to keep at it...

You have to submit more articles at least 3 a day.

Then own your niche and the product you are promoting.

They say use pen names but screw that. Build a name for yourself, let people know that you wouldnt promote it if it wasn't good.

Shoot some you tube videos to showcase your personality,

give away real value to your email list

use social bookmarking to build relationships.

Well Cloudchaser....I wish you luck and as someone that reviews biz opps/marketers/etc. at my review site, I'm sorry that you are learning the hard way but you're really not....

All of us start out and learn that way. The biggest difference is that you are actually doing it and most won't get that far. Now, you just need to keep doing it and track and tweak your results. It takes time...don't listen to that crap about making xxxx amount in 2 weeks.

People really are making money online and doing it like crazy but they are all set up to do so with strategies that they have proven to be successful. You need to just stick it out and find what works for you. Tracking, tweaking, and testing are all part of the deal. It is never as easy as do this and you'll make money. We all wish you good luck and applaud you for sticking it out!

    Sincerely,

    Hello Cloud,

What type of keywords are you targeting? It is great to go into a competitive niche...there is money there...just make sure your keywords don't have a ton of competition and that each and every keyword you have has a buyer behind them

For example the name of the product, "buy name of product", "how to be sexually attractive to women" etc

These are just examples but it all starts with proper keywords...make sure it is a keyword with someone tapping their computer screen with a credit card ready to buy something or solve a problem pronto

Secondly, if it were me, I would be a cheap .99cent .info domain for your different products and do a redirect to the merchant page. Many people don't know this but you can do this with ezine articles if you use a top level domain ie www.buymyproduct.info

Finally, if it were me, I would focus more on link building to your sites. I am not a huge fan or article marketing...especially if you are sending the person to your website and then to a merchant....too many steps for a sale

Also, ezine article's ads are in a far more prominent position than your resource box...hence the lower than usual click throughs...just some food for thought

    Good luck

Make sure you do the right things in your resource box. Too many marketers (although I'd venture to say probably not too many from the WF) get alot of things wrong here. Use anchor text in your link, not just your website URL. Don't just say something like
"here's all about me, go to my we site, bla, bla, bla"

try something more along the lines of
"Discover the one secret that will have her begging to be back in your arms....if you dare! She could meet someone tonight. Click now, before it's too late."
Or any copy that triggers a strong sense of
    Curiosity
    urgency
    scarcity
or a combination of the three. They're all proven motivators.
Just keep trying, and after you get a bit farther along, it's time to start creating your own product.

    Good Luck
