domain pointing - SEO

Hi,

After finding the keywords that I'd like to target in a specific market using market samurai, I noticed that they had a Phrase to Broad match Ratio of 4%... which means it's very unlikely for that keyword to be in that order...

So if the keyword was: "Me Help"... then it would be quite likely that it would also be "help me"... if that makes sense.

But my question is:
If I buy both domains, i.e. mehelp.com and helpme.com, and I point them to the same hosting... does that affect SEO?

As I don't know how they are typed in, I bought both domains... any suggestions?

Thanks in advance
Adam

Having both of them on the same server/host is not an issue, it really depends on what you have on each site. I wouldn't use the exact same content with the exact same linking structure. That would look like a "mirrored" site and is not good.

Use a slight variation on each one.

    agree with Vegas,
    As I understand it...
    (Could be totally wrong)
when you have any two domains aimed at the same hosting account,
it is best to use .htaccess to redirect one to the other so they are not considered 'mirrored' domains and the 'juice' split between them. by directing them to one, all the 'juice' flows to the one domain.
(like re-directing your http://domains to http://www.domains or verse visa)

Again, this is something I have 'picked up' from several sources. It could be as wrong as the dup content myth (yet still be a good idea) Lol

I do notice G makes me 'verify' ownership of both the www ond non-www version of a domain to pretend to count all the activity. (I dunno know why, I do remember in the 'old days to me' when I had to remember if a site used www or not to get to it.)

You need one domain to be your primary and 301 redirect the other domain to this address to avoid duplicate content penalties.

So if helpme.com is your primary, THIS is the one that will be indexed. mehelp.com will simply redirect to there.

You can do this by using a .htaccess or through your domain provider - contact their support email if you are unsure of what to do.

    Kind regards,
    Alex

Thanks guys... I'll do that. I'll focus on one and have the other redirect to it :-)
