Suggest video editing application/software?

Hi all,

I recently made a large video bundle available, and allowed anyone to rebrand the videos and post them to their blog etc.

I have someone who grabbed the videos asking which software could be used to rebrand the videos.

I'm using a Mac, have done for years, and I use the free iMovie app to edit/create all of my video content.

So...

What do YOU use, and what would you recommend to others? - Both free and paid solutions...

I'll direct my guy over to this thread.

Your thoughts?

Thanks.

Great thread this one Graeme, I'm one of those that downloaded your free videos, they are nice

Until now I've been using paid services to edit all my videos, I've never tried any tool of my own. My PC slows down and also no time for me to do that, thats the reason.

I guess you should add in your poll, another option "Paid Services."

But I would at least try some of the free tools available to few of my videos.

    Thank you.

I wish there was an "accent" generator...my voiceover sucks. European accents always sound better than my deepsouth farmboy drawl...

I use Adobe Premiere Pro on a Mac. I tried iMovie for a project once and didn't like it, so I stuck with Premiere. Maybe it's because I'm just used to Adobe products, plus I've used Premiere since version 4 or so.

And, I think Adobe Premiere Pro is more on the level of Final Cut so it's a few steps above iMovie.

Dan's content is irregularly read by handfuls of people. Join the elite few by reading his blog: dcrBlogs.com, following him on Twitter: dcrTweets.com or reading his fiction: dcrWrites.com but NOT by Clicking Here!

Dan also writes content for hire, but you can't afford him anyway.

Although I use Sony Vegas, there are much less expensive applications, which actually come in very useful for converting different formats into FLV, etc. "AVS Video" is a great value for all the applications you can download from them. $50 lifetime membership for audio and video applications

Here's a great post by Josh Anderson where he suggests what's needed:

I'm using this combination and it works very well. Actually, for the video player, I'm using Josh Bartlett's Easy Video Player:

There was a WSO for EVP; don't know if it's still available.

It's interesting to see within the poll results, that not many are using free software. The paid tools are simply amazing aren't they?

My preference is to stick with Adobe because I'm already familiar with many of the Adobe terms and process used (with Photoshop, Illustrator etc). The feel of the software is more familiar.

Depending on what I need to do I will use Camtasia, Windows Movie Maker and Sony Vegas. I use Easy Video Player as my video player online.
