Yahoo answers is amazing!

So just wanted to let everyone know how amazing yahoo answers is. I was not marketing anything just had a question about something and within 30 minutes it is ranking #5 out of 12000 on google and all I did was ask a question. It is crazy.

I think I might need to look into marketing with a few companies as an affiliate with these keywords I have found. WOW!!!!!

how about answering the questions? it would be less risky if you just answer questions that others find it helpful... yes you could be turned in and your account shut down...

You can always have 2 fake Yahoo accounts. Use one to post the question and use the other to answer it, you than go back to the account you used to post with and than pick yourself as the best answer.

Be careful with this. You'll have to use different IP's so that they don't catch on and ban your account(s).

I never really liked using Yahoo Answers this way. Sort of unethical to create multiple identities and sit around having fake conversations with them for the sake of traffic.

A bit unethical yes, but I know people who do the same thing and get 1k+ uniques a day from Yahoo Answers posts they posted months before. :p

1 k uniques a day huh?!!! Wow is all I can say I will have to try this out. Sounds interesting. But correct me if I am wrong but doesn't Google only Show keyword results from Yahoo Answers for only about 4 hours or something and then gives the space to another site?

It depends, sometimes the Yahoo Answer is the top answer for the phase for a very long time. You're not likely to get 1k uniques a day with most terms but if you have a movie type site and do the Yahoo Answers thing I mentioned before it works out very well.

Yes, in my early days of marketing I used Yahoo Answers and was getting los of traffic. Then 24-48 hours my account was canceled. They have pretty dedicated members that will turn someone in in a heart beat if they get the feeling that you are just trying to sell. So just be careful and its a great tool if used correctly.

      Good luck!

New here, but would not the IP address be the same for the different accounts still making it detectable, and thus in danger of being banned.

you can always try other answer service like answers.com and askville from amazon.. but yahoo is the most popular one as they promote it on the front page.. 1k+ uniques are rare with all the competition.. and so many questions have been asked about the same topic...

I prefer to work on a long term model, stuff like this just seems to be hit and miss and then on to the next thing. In the end you are better off building up your own sites through SEO ... IMO.

Yes. You should be very careful because Yahoo has VERY strict rules. Anything can get your account deleted.

IIRC you can not even drop a link on answers.com ... yes I agree, yahoo is the best.. provide useful information and get "best answer" from strangers if the best way preventing your account from trouble...

Y! Answers is also no follow, and you cant post links until you have 20 answers + 2 week old account.

Doesnt seem worth the effort for whatever trickle of craptastic traffic you might get.

I have had bad luck with Yahoo Answers. I just could not determine what was appropriate and what went too far.

I spent a few hours and answered about 8 questions without any links to my sites - within a week 6 of them got voted best answers. I then answered a 9th question. I did not include any promotion or marketing language in my answer. All I did was include a reference link to a page on a site of mine. The page contained an article that directly addressed the question and the site has hundreds of pages of unique articles all relevant to the topic.

The next day they suspended my account. I tried to contact them and never got a response other than a link to the terms and conditions and could not find what I was doing wrong.

Others I have reached out to had same results but I see posts following a similar format that are not banned.

Still cannot figure why mine was banned while others are not. . other than the guess that if someone (like a competitor) reports it, it gets banned automatically.

Yes yahoo answer is amazing but if you mass around them with a spamming altitude than they automatically banned you from yahoo answer forever.

Because I have faced the same problem with Yahoo answer and spend a lot of time in yahoo answer but at the last moment I have lost my account but never mind Yahoo answer is one the marketing way for all internet marketing ways.

I hope you guys don't make mistake of what I did.

There are 3 main 'techniques' to setting up for success with Yahoo answers.

The $140 link in my sig is directly related to Yahoo answers.

It may be good for IM, but I for one have found it to be almost useless for anything else. Including answers.

Like everything else, if you use it right, it serves its purpose.

About a year back, I had answered a real question with a genuine answer and plopped my site promoting a clickbank product in the signature. This more than a year old, 30-40 word answer, still generates traffic every month and the occasional 20$ commission.

Is there a good course on Yahoo Answers? The MMM course talks about this in the course, but without too much detail. Maybe it is that simple.

I had not used Yahoo Answers yet, so this has been helpful. Looks like I'll have to tread carefully when going down this road.
