Do your banks ever 'question' your clickbank cheques?

by entry

When you go to the bank, and give in your clickbank cheques, and adsense cheques etc, on a regular basis, do your regular cashiers at the bank ever ask you what these foreign checks are? (they are not supposed to- i know)

but as they are not familiar with them, and they see you come in with them regularly, have they ever asked where you getting these from?

I'm based in the UK and the first time it took forever ... I think it was a case of getting the 'How to training manual out' first.

Not so bad now (apart from the £10 fee my bank charges). Not much but hey ... it's my money!

Nah! It all spends the same. I get a direct deposit, quicker and no questions.

FYI, there are some people who say clickbank is a rip-off, you can't make money with them, blah blah blah. That's a good thing, keeps the competition down.

So, you want to sell me another way to easily make "X" dollars in "X" days? ROFL too funny! IM success requires hard work and lots of time. Most newbies do not survive the steep learning curve. Anyone who says otherwise is probably selling you a fantasy.

LOL I had the same problem being in Australia - the first time took me over 20 minutes to bank 2 cheques because the teller had no idea how to do it. Towards the end (before I switched to direct deposit from CB) it was a 5 minute deal and as an added bonus, I was recognised on sight and knew by name. I guess they don't get many people banking a lot of overseas cheques...

And yes, the fees stink. I copped $20 PER cheque at some banks, other's were $20 for four cheques from the same company, etc. Total rip off.

By the way, if I worked at you bank, I would NOT accept that check and would ask you some questions.

You can't expect a bank to accept such old checks, they do not like it.

Try newer ones, you'll have more success with the bank.

I used to feel weird bringing those checks to the bank as I was paranoid that they thought I created the check or something ... Direct Deposit takes care of all that.

When I got my first clickbank check, I got asked what it was for at my bank. I guess I was all nervous when I went to deposit it, even though it was for something like $200.

After that, I was never asked again.

I guess it was all about the fear of being something new to me.

That is one impressive number on that check, even though it is an image from 2006 as someone else pointed out in this thread. I wonder how common such numbers are amongst professional clickbank users today.

It's a check. Tellers probably see thousands, hundreds atleast, a day. They couldn't care less if it says 'clickbank' or 'joes pron shop'. Deposit it and wait for it to clear. Shouldn't be an issue. As long as your name is on the account the money is going into it won't be an issue if you endorse the check appropriately.

I don't think the OP is actually claiming this cheque to be his, he is more than likely using it as an example.

I had no problems with my Clickbank checks at the bank. Of course, the amounts were small (just a little bit over threshold) so they asked no questions, just transferred the amount to my account, even without a fee.

I do a lot of PPC and one month I was doing very well on a product that didn't have any competition yet. I got a check for over $5000, but I was spending so much on advertising the product that I really needed that $5000 to keep my ads running.

Unfortunately, the lady at the bank was very suspicious about the check. She said she had to place a hold on it for 10 days. I spoke to the manager and he said they had to wait for the check to clear. I ended up calling clickbank's bank and putting them in touch with my own bank to get the issue resolved, but for a few days I missed out on a lot of potential traffic and a lot of profits.

I get direct deposit now so this hasn't happened again, but looking back on it, at the time I was fresh out of college and tended to walk around in sandals, shorts, a tshirt, and a 5 o'clock shadow. These days I try to look as professional as possible in public and I get treated much better and without the suspicious looks.

    Never had a problem.

I never have any paranoia walking into a bank cashing
$700 - $1000 CB checks...I revel in the moment and
getting antsy can ruin any moment.

They ask questions, and I'm glad they do because I'm
more than happy to share with them how it's done and
how they can do it too. I did the same thing with RE
Investors when I worked at a bank.

I could do Direct Deposit, but I enjoy getting a physical
check way more than digital transfer. It's fun too walk
to a bank with a check worth hundreds (or thousands)
in your hand. What a blessing and joy it is everytime I
    go to the bank...

Oh wait...this was about if I have any problems cashing
    it...lol, nope.

I live in south africa and we have some of the worst banks in the world. Getting my money is extremely painful.

The last three cheque's i've taken in the teller had no idea where it was from and just told me the bank manger will investigate.

I've been told that the cheque was to big and they coulden't cash it

I've been told it will take 8 weeks to clear

Even worse is when cheque's arrive a week before they go stale because the postal service is so slack

I'm amazed at some of these stories.

I mean, they're just cheques which banks do actually have some experience of.

Why should having "ClickBank" on the front make any difference whatsoever? Almost every business check I receive from the USA has the company's name printed on it.

    Cheers,

    Hi guys

i have just had the morning from hell down the bank and was going to make a thread about it until i read this post.

I open about two new accounts a month for new sales funnels niches i am in and have to wait for 3 cheques before i can sign up for direct deposit. I then have to pay them into my old english bank account and then pay to transfer them into my portuguese account because clickbank dont accept portugual accounts for deposits.

But this time when i paid the cheque in they told me the fees had gone up and now it will cost me $30 per cheque. So for four cheques i paud $120 today which i think is stupid and most of this fee is through the bank that does clickbank so clickbank arent even paying their own fees they are passing them on to us.

The banks drive me mad though because each time i get talked to like a two year old asking me why i have to pay by cheque.

Though im surprised they cashed the cheque at the top as they expire by clickbank after six months.

    Kind regards

If you can live without the money, why not up the threshold so you pay the fees less often.

I can sympathise with this living in the UK. I won't go into all the reasons but I reckon I pay 10-15% more overall in fees compared to say PayPal. But getting great affiliates and no dispute hassles more than makes up for it.

I've deposited checks 3 times that amount, when I was able to work, from foreign car companies and no one batted an eye, I doubt they cared.

Recently deposited 131,000 and they wanted to put a 5 day hold on it, I said they ought to look at my account before they make stupid statements like that. Lol. Wow, that is a large fee you have to pay in the UK. If I were you, I would open an account on St Kitts, or any of the dozens of other Carribean islands, get a debit card and do direct deposit. You would pay far less in fees. Here is a sample

I've never had a problem with any of those types of checks.

But, about 12 years ago I had a local branch of Wells Fargo want to put a 30 day hold on a bank draft issued from Chase Manhattan.

          Go figure.

The first time I deposited my cheque they frooze it for 10 days but after that they got cashed in instantly. I think I will be switching to direct deposit like many have suggested.
