Dead links in Article resource boxes

How are you addressing the problem of bad or dead links in your article resource boxes?

There are several issues:


1. Links that appear as text and are not click-able . I see those that pick up articles frequently do this either by design or by programming that doesn't care.

2. Links that go bad because you no longer have the site or the URL you use goes bad

Sometimes you direct link to an affiliate program or site. I don't like doing that but people do, then that site goes away. Your article is dead for you.

Even when you use a link that you can change: IE: http://www.mysite.com/toilets sometimes you forget to change them when an affiliate program goes away and you should link to something else. Do you have a process to monitor those?

    Though most will tell you to use only anchor links in resource boxes I don't do that. I'll use one anchor link but I'll use the a url as one link. That means those who place the article on their site without activating a link will usually show a link anyway.

      Thats a good idea.

      how many directories do u submit to ?

      Do any directories reject these 2 links? (as they are identical, but in diff forms)

      I've been saying that for a long time too. Most people just copy and paste articles from the directories and that doesn't always keep the anchor text links intact. By using your actual URL as one of your links you're assured of always having at least one link back to your site.
